I wrote this a while back and thought I might post it here. Comments?

Let's dive straight into this thing shall we? Good. There is a question that has been sat on my brain like a big fat platypus. Increasingly, I've started looking at more and more forms of media, you know the stuff, it's all around us, television, the Internet, radio, newspapers, adverts and so on and so forth. The specific thing that has been creating an enigmatic splodge all over my brain is the question that almost everybody must have asked themselves at least once. That is: “Why has journalism gone down the shitter?. Okay, now when I say journalism, I'm generalising, I am not saying that journalism in it's entirety has gone down the shitter, that would be a silly thing to say. But why, in this day and age, do the majority who make up the 'Paparazzi' insist on reporting on such useless and ridiculously misinformed crap. Yes, I said crap. Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap. That too many craps?
The crap that I am referring to encompasses such things as 'gossip', 'celebrity lifestyles' and Piers Morgan. What really makes me sad is that, as a nation, we are willing to consume this crap and actually be happy with it. Now, allow me to elaborate my particular selections of what falls under the category of the 'crap' that has lead the majority of journalism 'down the shitter'. First of all I am in utter disbelief at some of the stories that appear in the newspapers, mostly the tabloids. Let me give an example. I decided to analyse one of these gossip magazines, which I borrowed from a lady friend and which I shall not reveal the name of. Mostly because I can't remember it.
I turned the pages. Followed through. Wait, did I just put it like that? Whoops. I didn't literally follow through. Let's not digress here. I read on. What did I see. What did I see in this magazine? Pictures of celebrities. Pictures of Demi Moore's sweat patches. Pictures of Halle Berry's sixth toe. Oh yes. Pictures of Britney Spears getting out of a limousine with her 'tighty whites' on display. Brilliant!A whole article on how Miss Spears and Kevin Federline had split up. WOW! How do people find it entertaining to read about this stuff? How? Where are the reports on stuff that matters? I'd rather see more articles about topics that actually affect, or at least have the potential to affect those that read them. Is it really that entertaining to gain insight into the privacy of those we call 'celebrities'? To be honest, I think it is wrong that we should read about people's private lives in public media. I mean it's their privacy. Then what happens? Their wounds get pissed in and pictures of them in their most embarrassing moments are splashed across a two page spread! What the hell is this!?!

These types of journalists who report on rubbish that matters not are the ones who I whine at. Like Pete Doherty being arrested time and time again. Okay, yes, doing drugs is a bad thing but my opinions changed once I'd met him. I met Pete and he is a shy and quiet person. He doesn't like being on drugs and checks himself into rehab all the time! The reason he started was because of a disaster in his life which I won't go into and he found an escape in them. It is celebrities like Pete who get a bad name from the press. They never report on positive things and focus on the negatives because society today feeds off this. We all have our own personal and private doubts about ourselves and so find great comfort and self-worth in knowing that those who have succeeded in making it into the public eye are having their imperfections exposed. Worse than those that find joy in reading about these things are those that expose them. I mentioned earlier a certain journalist named Piers Morgan.
Piers Morgan wrote an article recently in the style of a mock 'awards ceremony'. He handed out awards such as “No talent star of the year” which went to Paris Hilton and “Whiner of the year” to Heather Mills Mcartney. Well Piers my friend, I would not hesitate to slap “Hypocrite of the year” on your smug face. The worst part was the fact that he made fun of Ashley Cole for complaining about his salary when he already earns enough for what Morgan described as “kicking a ball around a field”. Okay, Ashley Cole does earn a lot of money but I do not think you realise the skill it takes to be a professional footballer Mr. Morgan. What's more is that our dear friend Piers gets paid to sit in a room and write articles which insult and mock celebrities. Wow Piers. You really earn the bread for your family don't you? I have many criticisms on his recent article. He called Kate Moss egotistical, when he himself feels that he has the right to doll out awards to celebrities and that we should all listen to what he has to say. What Piers forgets is that he was fired from his previous job for publishing an article on British soldiers having tinkles on Iraqi prisoners that was created from a picture that was sent in to his news company by an unconfirmed source. It turned out that this picture was fake! Utter rubbish. I doubt that Piers Morgan would be able to cope with the rotten taste of his own foul medicine. I'd personally tip it down his larynx and shout “SWALLOW IT BITCH!” if I had the chance.
Where is the real news!?! Where has it gone!?! I want the time I've spent reading such absolute tosh back as quickly as possible please. Thankyou!
