On one day every month, 50 of the brighter kids from my school are told to go to a room and be the "school council". I am one of these kids, and today was that day.

At the start of what should be lesson 3 ,we all shuffle into a room and sit around a table. We have become a school council. What do school councils do? Why, they make decisions and try there upmost to be the voice of the children in a world that is run by adults.

Well, that would be the case, if it were physically possible for more than 5 people to honestly agree on something. Let me run you through the course of events in this two hour meeting;

Issue 1. Should Miss.Aston be aloud to have suggestive posters of Robbie William on her class room walls?

And that was it, it took this bunch of imbeciles 2 HOURS to decide that. I hope to god Miss.Aston appreciates the fact we, with all our worldly knowledge, have allowed her to keep the less suggestive of her posters.

How long would it have taken a dictator to reach this decision? About 10 Seconds tops.

Now im not talking evil dictator, im just talking a level headed guy (or gal) who can make good, sensible decisions.

But the school council is not the only example where a dictator would have been oh so use full. Another is Milton Keynes.

I was there recently... its crap, and the thing is you can tell how it came about. A group of of town planners sat at a table, for months and months and months and months, and eventually decided that they should make it like a really horrible American town. Wheras if a person had of just gone in there and said, "Make it the same as Stratford-upon-avon" it would have been really nice.

Unfortunatly, though this just aint possible. In a perfect world where everyone was level headed and made good decisions, this would be great. But obviosly, there are some maniacs out there.

So, this is what i propose, there should be an X-Factor style TV show, and it should be all about finding a dictator to rule over somewhere... and see what happens.

Good idea. I'm not saying that because I'm evil and want to abuse the system. Honest.

Seriously though, this is how ALL dictatorships start (not with a gameshow smartarse, you know what I mean). It's all best intentions, 'wow, didn't our problems get fixed fast' one minute, to 'let's pretend we have nuclear weapons so America will come and play with us' the next.

It would be amusing though. Simon Cowell: "Sorry, you're just too flaky to be a dictator, and your singing is absolutely DREADFUL"

We really should have one decided like that, though.

I can't believe no one did this the first time around:

vote me!
here is my slogan:
'nuke the fuckers'
anyone i do not agree with goes there!
i will rule with iron fist and attend matters as trivial as mrs Astons posters even though there would be more pressing issues.. but as a dictator my opinion of what i want to bother doing is FINAL!

i would be a good dictator trust me in this... i have often though of how to... correct the world :)
