I've had this stupid virus forever that says (file name) is not a valid win32 application. I've been told I have to restore my computer, but I definately don't want to do that. In order for me to open things I have to right click and click run-as. It's getting really annoying. Anyone had this problem before? Anyone know how I can get rid of it? Any free programs? Any programs that cost money? I'm desperate here.

Try doing a virus scan (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/), and see if that helps.

for a free (real time) anti-virus try www.avast.com (or direct from here: http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1016.html).

HiTmAN's suggestion is best if you don't want to install a virus scanner. An alternative online scan is: http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php
