Well, I'm shooting a film with some friends in a couple of weeks' time and I was looking for some songs that I could use. I have a strange way of directing, I actually find the song that would suit the scene best and then synaesthetically recreate the scene from that. It's worked quite well in the past.
Anyway, the film is almost dominated by songs by The Clash - the actually name of the movie is The Guns of Brixton - but there's a scene that just wouldn't suit a Clash song. Basically, a gang of revolutionaries are hiding in a locked room, waiting for their target to enter so that they can shoot him dead and end his tyranical reign. However, before the man enters, he makes an alcoholic named Picasso open the door as he senses something is wrong. Picasso unlocks it and is completely filled with bullets from the arsenal of guns and falls backwards down a flight of stairs.
The build up to it is a lot like the clip from this movie - Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb0EQDDe7Qg). Actually, I pretty much got the idea from it but although the music would be perfect for my film, I don't want to use the same song.
Does anyone know a similar song with a rising tempo and sudden stop at the end? Plussage for anyone who recommends a great song, even if I don't use it.
