Bah, work in about 2 hours and I've barely slept. Fell asleep at gone 8 last night only to wake at 10. I'm having real trouble sleeping these past few months and it sucks. Just to make matters worse, I need to get some overtime in this week, about a day an a halfs worth. What do you fine imaginary internet people do to ensure a full nights sleep and glossy coat?

If you can't sleep, don't try and force it, because there's nothing worse than only managing to get an hour or two in then having to get up...

Firstly, get off the internet at about 6pm. Don't stay on here all night. Spend a couple of hours just relaxing and watching tv. If you're still having major problems then I'd suggest going to your doctor and asking for a short perscription of sleeping pills. Obviously this depends on what your job is because they can make you super drowsy.
Usually I'd be pretty heartless about this because a lot of people on the internet suffer from "insomnia" because they're addicted to the internet. But you seem to have structure and a fulltime job, so I really feel for you. Hope it gets better.

Exercise is one of the best things for ensuring a good nights sleep.
Be it at the gym, or some other kind.
I usually get 6 hours a night, due to my inability to not watch tv and having to get up at 6.45. However a quick Thomas* usually gets me swiftly to sleep.
Also, do not drink ANYTHING with caffeine in after about 8pm.
If you must, then buy decaffeniated and drink that. You will notice an instant difference.
Also a warm bath before bed helps too.
I've got overtime on both sat and sun this weekend, plus a wedding on saturday. I can feel my candle slowing burning away at both ends....

Don't drink anything with caffeine in full stop. Any caffeine at all during the day (even in the morning) keeps me awake. Shame, because I love coffee and I often don't sleep much.

I sleep all the time. Even in a large part of my lessons. Makeing me unable to get to sleep till 11 or 12 ish, tired the next day, and even more prone to sleep. So yeah, only sleep at night, it works better. (Unless you have the night shift.)

I burn my candle at both ends
It will not last the night
But ah my foes and oh my friends
It gives a lovely light
I like it when people remind me of nice verse.
Anyway, incense works for me though I can understand that it's not good for a lot of people.
