Whenever anyone talks about their cats or dogs, they (the animal) is almost always female.
I know this is most likely my imagination and is probably pure coincidence based on the people I interact with, but I thought I'd do a poll about it anyway.
I've always thought any disproportion might be down to animal behaviour, or perhaps just not wanting to see a pair of balls jangling around.
But yeah, prove me wrong.
Btw, interesting statistic: 99.999% of cats and dogs (and children) are called Molly.
Edit: Please don't vote if you don't have a cat or dog. If you have more than one of each, just answer based on whether they're predominantly male or female.

Buster is as male as can be! However, my ladybug Gudrun was female.

Pff. I don't know. I didn't really think it through :D
Maybe a mod can add an "Equal number of each" option. Why can't we edit polls dagnabit?

I thought all dogs were called Barney. My dog's called Barney. My cat's called Harry (after Harry Redknapp, the then manager of Southampton).
The title of this thread misled me. I was thinking of animals in white coats. But then that would be a Hot Tub thread wouldn't it?

I find it interesting that everyone instantly assumes a cat is female, and a dog is male. It's really weird.

My dog, Cookie, is of the masculine species of the canine. I didn't wanna name him Cookie though. I wanted to name him Skippy.

My cat's not really my cat, and I'm not sure whether he/she is male or female, but I know the cat's called George, so that might help.
Also I don't know anyone called Molly, never had, and no pets called Molly either. Something like 76% of statistics are made up.

Both my current dogs are male but I used to have a male dog and a female dog. And yes the female one was called Molly. We didn't get to choose names though as they have all been rescue dogs.
