Grr I can't login in the box in the top right because of the angry angry advert for alliance and leicester coving it up! All there is is a white box that goes orange with words in it if you put your mouse over it! Aah!
Well you seem to have managed ok. It might be best if you hung around beginners for a little while, but now you're here have a piece of cake.

yeah i logged in where is says you must be logged in to do that if you quote something. Does anyone else have a problem with this or is it my web browser?

The advert gets in the way if you scroll over it. If it's in the way, just refresh the page and make sure the mouse cursor doesn't go over the advert.

Mash89, what happened to your old sig, i liked it. :( Oh and i don't get problems with adverts because my internet security blocks them. \o/ Can't help you there i'm afraid.

On my other PC, I get this as well. The advert has a white box where it expands to, and it doesn't go away if you refresh the page/do not mouse-over the advert.
Have you updated your flash player/web browser recently? It might be that.

I also have this problem. It is irritating.
I'm running Ubuntu Feisty, Firefox 2.0.0.4, Flash 9.
Ugh.. :\

You merely roll you mouse back over it and it goes again. Am I the only one to figure that out?

Wow, YES! How did I ever not think of that?
Actually no, I did think of this, and it did not fix the problem on my system. Apologies for the probably illegal level of sarcasm in this post :P

You'll have to tone down the sarcasm sir you might get arrested. :p
Evidently it just likes me better. Or something O.o

Heh. I expect it works wonderfully for all you XP people...

*Disclaimer: this is a rather minor bug somewhere, and may not be used for the purposes of "O LOL THAT MEANS WINDOZE IZ BETTER". In that event, I am liable to say something along the lines of "aaaaaargh".

Whats the Ubuntu system like? I mainly used to run fedora, knoppix for testing machines, and suchums. Enlighten me?

I suspect this might be considered even further off-topic than we currently are :p
However - to be honest, I haven't really used anything other than Ubuntu (I had a go on knoppix a while back, though)... anyway, Ubuntu is quite friendly now: the earlier releases I had did seem to have little problems with things not quite working together - I forget what exactly - but I've noticed them get ironed out with each release. The current set-up of "LiveCD with installer" is a nice idea, although my computer is too slow to actually use it, and I had to download and burn the "alternate installer" version instead when I installed for the first time. Upgrading between versions of Ubuntu is relatively painless (the package manager's automatic update notifier just gives you a button to press, I seem to remember), except that it can take hours to download everything.
Also, I haven't had a lot of experience with KDE, but GNOME seems to do pretty much what I need it to. Perhaps I ought to try some other distros out, but I haven't got any spare machines or partitions anywhere, and LiveCDs are prohibitively slow on here!

It might be Linux perhaps causing the problem somehow; I have Ubuntu on the PC that I get the white box on.

At the risk of sounding offensive, unblock the adverts for this site and forums, and click on the adverts, even if only once a day, because it is one of the few things you can do to help Weebl with the cost of running them
