Vista 'Live' question

If I had a gold live subscription, shadowrun, an xbox 360 wireless controller and an xbox 360 headset plugged into the wireless controller, would I be able to talk to my mate Bill who's playing shadowrun on his 360 with his headset?

Should be able too, I have read that Shadowrun PC and 360 are totally playable with each other so Headsets should be the same.

I've got shadowrun, I play it against Bill on his 360. I can hear him but I have no mic, I know a standard mic would do...

Before I buy a 360 pad and headset though I'd like a definitive 'Yes it will work', there are lots of people who say 'i can't see why it wouldn't' but there aren't any people saying 'yes it will definately work I've done it'.
