I was out, feeling good, partying, drinking, smoking weed, as my mom suddenly called: "Your dad has just had a heart attack, he's on the way to hospital, come home."

BAM
Heart is banging.

I couldn't drive because I was drunk, so I asked two girls who I didn't know.

They drove me home. My dad had drunk half a bottle of wine.

My mom, after my dad had that strange look in his eyes, asked what's the matter and he andswered his heart felt like a stone.

Dude, i'm sorry to hear that.
But he'll be ok - heart attacks are totally manageable.

My mum got taken into hospital with a suspected heart attack only to find out it was gall stones which has exactly the same symptoms. Fingers crossed for you :)

I wish him all the luck in recovery. As long as he avoids so much of the bottle, your ole man should be fine. :)

Just be sure you don't follow in what he did, eh?

*ehug*

Heart attacks are a bitch, I've had first hand experience of one, but don't worry he'll be fine. Just make sure he stays away from wine.

Thanks for you ehugs, my dad is over the worst now, he even wanted to come home today but they wouldn't let him.

He IS a workaholic.

Well, seems as if he has to stay in hospital for 2 days till the examinations are done.

I think this is the best for him.

*E-hug*

Glad to hear he's ok. And if it gets him to realise that he needs to easy off on the work then maybe something good will come of it. :)

My uncle had one in his late thirties, do to smoking constantly up to that point and being a workaholic, i.e. the major factor was actually stress.

He quit smoking, and honestly hasn't had a particularly high work ethic since then anyway. In his case it's fine since he's semi-retired from being an obscenely high-paid accountant with no dependants, though.

If less work is what it takes to be healthier, I say go for it. Be more wary of finances and investments, though (as he has).

e-hug.

At least he got to the hospital speedily enough, denial and waiting is what causes most problems.
