Alright,I've run myself into a bit of a problem,here it goes:

I was hapilly eating dinner with my sister when my dad was in the room,me and my sis were arguing and then my sister brings up "At least I don't go on forums and talk to complete random strangers about some game!".Then my dad chimes in with "Whats this!?" (quite angrilly) and then my sister pretty much repeated herself.

Then my dad said I'm not aloud to go on forums anymore,as he is convinced that everyone on the internet is a pedophile,therefore dos'nt realy trust me on the internet.(Hes never had a problem with it before either...)

So the question is,what do I do?

Yeah. One thing you can take solace in; is that she'll get an even worse/less fair treatment in a similar situation mainly for just being more stereotypically vulnerable. And it doesn't matter if she's older or younger.

And it will happen. As long as she has some form of electronic conectivity, she's exposed to the weirdos. Whether it be internet access generally; just email; or perhaps having a cellular phone with text capabilities.

Being serious for a moment, I don't see why he should have a problem with talking to people on the internet. I can see that if you were coming to meet some of us, then he could have a problem with that; that would be fair, to be honest.

As it is, I think that if you don't want to have to go on here whenever he's out of the room, then you should talk about it to him. Just sit down and explain to him that all you're doing is talking to people, and show him the site, if he wants.

You need to get across to him that you're not going to go running off to meet anyone that you talk to on here, and that you're not a gullible retard (though I wouldn't use that exact wording, if I were you).



If that fails, get portable firefox (the kind that you use off memory sticks) and stick it in a folder in your documents on the computer. Use that to come on here, and use the 'delete personal data' thing on it to get rid of your internet history. :eng101:

The vast majority of people I know and consider friends are off the internet in some way or other. I simply don't meet people in real life ever (by which I mean people not off the internet, I meet people from the internet in real life fairly often). Basically if I didn't have such understanding parents I doubt I'd even have friends. They brought me up well enough to know about the dangers of the internet etc though.

That says something about my life. :\
