At the missus' house on Sunday, we were peturbed by a couple of unusual and most uninvited guests.

A pair of goats turned up, quite out of the blue, and set up camp in the garden. The horned chap made numerous efforts to break into the house, with little success. Both of them have been eating the hedges and, less conventionally, chewing on the washing.

The RSPCA told us to ring the police, the police told us to ring DEFRA, DEFRA told us to ring the council. The council didn't do Sundays, so they were staying for a bit.

Amusingly the black one is quite like a dog; it welcomes petting and does a lot of sniffing, but the horned fellow gets quite irritated for no good reason.

Apparently they were gone by this morning. How odd.

those aren't goats. those are a rare breed of sheep which used to be bred on North Sea islands, like the Shetlands, Orkneys, Faroes etc.

they are called Samoay sheep or something. keep an eye on them, they're relatively rare.

It's like the pun fairy has just walked into this thread and been sick everywhere.

That's if there is any such thing as a pun fairy.

I like to think so.

Looks like the black one was being a bit sheepish, but at least the horned one wasn't being baaaashful.
