View Full Version : Annoying Habits?

Who else has an annoying habit? In this case, I mean habit in the sense that something keeps happening to you which becomes annoying.

Confused? Yeah, me too.. lemme explain

I have an anoying habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time as far as law is concerned :(.

Example 1

Walking around the woods, trying to find something to do. We decide, quite innocently to walk through the thickest part of the wood just for the heck of it. Just about to pass into the trees, some cops stop us. "Alright, where are you going, what are you doing?"
"Walking, because we're bored"
"Through the thickest part of the wood?"
"Well, yeah"

So they tell us theres been a load of drug trouble in these woods. So they search us. On me I have an assortment of suspicous objects -

Ping pong balls (I don't know why)
3 Lighters (I was kicking myself, even though I own them legally)
A fuckton of cash (I'd just been paid)

If that didnt seem suspicious to them, I dont know what would've... I was kicking myself afterwards.

Example 2

Sitting on a train with some mates, suddenly "Oh look!! A buffet cart!! Lets go grab some foods!"

So we do, we get up and start walking quickly to this buffet cart. Unbeknownst to us, the ticket inspector was right behind us. We stood there for a while, and thought, oh shit, this must look so dodgy...

We were there perfectly legally, but boy did we look dodgy.

There have been some other times, but this is all I can be arsed to list, and the annoying thing is I feel really really bad afterwards :(.

So, Weeblers, this is both an an advice on how to not look so guilty and how to not instictively be nervous in from of police thread, and a "How about you?" thread.

Cracking various things, making silly noises, being too happy, handing out rep and the like too easily (ie: being overly kind and generous, which seems to get on people's nerves sometimes).

Just generally being myself is an annoying habit which I have no intention of kicking anytime soon.

Apparently I'm annoying because I can't pick an emotion. My good friend Toni says that I'm happy one minute and grumpy the next, and it just continues like that all day. Personally I didn't think anything of it.

This.

Well, similar. I love coming out of the Cinema and walking past the queue of people just about to go in, and loudly spoiling the ending.

And I complain about everything. My friends have all told me they find my constant cynicism irritating.

Why must the movie = the book?

I find it incomprehensible that people should expect a 1 to 4 (Dances with Wolves ;) ) hour visual representation of a story to perfectly mimic every last little nuance of the book that they fell in love with.

I offer you a perfectly reasonable alternative to free you from the angst of not seeing Tom Bombadil in the Fellowship of the Ring or watching Harry inexplicably not do things exactly the way the Half-Blood Prince described it; don't watch the movie. ;)

I just don't like it when they miss really good bits out...that's all.

Then you shouldn't say rude things about people.

Until you're sure they're quite a distance away

Shouting at the telly, then having my sister explain (in my ear) that they can't hear me. Every time. Usually in films.

And pr0n. I HATE pr0n, but somehow it keeps finding me.

I complain about everything. That is not an exaggeration. I do literally complain about everything. I had a field day yesterday watching the 5 minutes of Live Earth that I did.

Oh same here. I went to London with some friends and almost got left behind because they were sick of me.

Speaking of Live Earth, wtf was going on? Every time they showed a band that didn't sound like Coldplay they cut them off to go to Australia or Germany or summat.

See? I can't stop moaning any more...

Saying something rude about someone only to find out they are standing behind me.
I do this to an annoying degree. When I was on holiday in Spain I got used to everyone speaking Spanish and only understanding small amounts of English so when a baby started shouting I said to my brother "Hey, David, kick that baby in the face" only to find out its mother was a Londoner.

Yesterday I was at the Yorkshire show and there was an obese old woman so I said "Woah, what a fat old woman!", because my friends and I seem to like spotting people who look strange, although I felt sad and embarrassed because the window was wound down and she had heard everything I said...

Strangely, it's not cynicism for me but my optimism which is an annoying habit. I spend too much time planning really big things, things that are too big to complete really. I wanted to do a feature film last year, having never filmed a scripted story properly, so I planned it all to a T and bought the stuff I need for it, only to find out that I didn't have anywhere near the time required to make it properly and I would have been better off filming a short movie. I still do this though, taking on too much and moving on from things quickly. Even when I did write a short film for festivals, it was too ambitious and too 'sweary' to be actually entered in the desired competition.
