Ladies and gentlemen, It is that time again.

The football season is dawning on us, roughly a month to go.

I don't know if you guys are already part of a fantasy league or you just don't like it. However, last season my friends and I joined up to this fantasy football league (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/index.html) and we found it easy to navigate, and enjoyable with it's built in mini forum. So all are welcome

It works just like any other one. There's nothing spectacular about it but it gives you a chance to pip your knowledge against friends and foe.

Your start with £100m and you sign

2 goalkeepers
5 defenders
5 midfielders
3 strikers

you can change your formation but there has to be at least 3 back and 1 striker.

Hey guys just to remind you- The transfers you make now (before the season) will not effect your stats. So if you like you can change your team around completely a few times before August 11th ^_^

just looking over the new changes and all the rules from last year have stayed the same, but some improvements have been made:

1. Improved Watch list

It's easier than ever to keep an eye on potential transfer targets. When logged into your team and viewing information about a player, simply click on 'Add to Watch list'. Watched players are available as a filter when making transfers.

2. Easier to identify the star players

Any players in the dream team will be identified with a . Additionally, when making transfers you can check how many times each player has been in the dream team as well as viewing the current dream team as a filter.

3. Points scoring summaries

When checking how your team performed in a Gameweek, simply hover over the points scored to get a summary of how those points were earned.

4. Player history summaries

Need a quick overview of form when making transfers? Just click on a player's statistic to see points scored in their last 3 fixtures as well as their next 3 opponents.

5. Historical player and fantasy team information

When viewing your gameweek history or a player's fixture history, you can also see points scored in the 2006/07 season.

6. Full leader board viewing

You can now check your team's ranking and view all teams in the overall, country and favourite team leader boards - not just the top 50!

7. Rankings for all private leagues

All private leagues with more than five teams will receive a ranking, and be shown in the best leagues table.

8. Home nations

England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales can now be selected as separate countries. Who will come out on top in the best countries league?

9. Improved kit design

Hoops and sock stripes have been added to the options, and the number of available colours increased to over 16 million!

10. Automatically rejoin your private league

After selecting your new team, league administrators will have the option of re-creating their private leagues from last season. Existing teams will then automatically join after picking their new teams.

I was also thinking a -1 for any player in your team that doesn't get a point (so the starting 11 any of them on 0 your have a -1)

so:

-1 for any player with a 0 or below
2 for each player in the weekly dream team
3 points if your captain is in the weekly dream team
5 points if you have a player in the dream team that no one else in our league do


I'll post it each week on the first page, keeping score. Also posting the weekly best team here for post sake lol

From previous experience, running a long league doesn't always keep interest. In the league last year only a few people kept their teams updated. To be in with a chance you have to make subs. Most people forgot to do this.

I am up for the extra points league but this may complicate things as it doesn't stick to the premierleague.com points system.

Nope. Any team changes have to be done before the deadline for the gameweek, if you did do that they'd only be active for gameweek 2 onwards.

Nah, points stay the same no matter when you joined the league. You score points on your own, and joining leagues doesn't affect this score.

no I know it doesn't affect your score. but the points you get in the league will only be from when you join.

No, it's from when you started your team. Have a look at the top of the league, see how many people you know; most of them came into the league late on. (And I STILL don't know who they are...)

Anyway, turns out I got the best score out of everyone this week. And 4th best over the last two :)
