I've really been getting into House lately, which is quite different from what I usually listen to. I really like the stuff with lots of stuff happening, and with lots of funky/soul kinda roots.

My favourite track right now is probably UFO by Sneaky Sound System [if you want to hear it just Youtube it].

D'you people have any cool House mixes/tracks to recommend?

DEFINITELY check out BT. Try to find his album Movement In Still Life, good stuff. His albums in general span so many different genres, if it at all sparks your interest.
A good recent House release is Higher State of Consciousness (Dirty South and TV Rock Remix) by Wink, great dancey beat :3

EDIT: oh also, if you dig funk/soul roots, SOS by Stonebridge is a great, retro-sounding hit that just came out too...the remix by Ortega and Gold is gasmic

Am I the only one who thought he was talking about House M.D? :(

But yeah I agree with the BT reccommendation
If you want some of the classics try and find "Ibiza Anthems" or something to that effect, well mixed and very good at parties

On the topic of the House TV series music, the opening theme is called "Teardrop" and it's by Massive Attack, if you didn't already know...I'd recommend getting it, it's a great song.

Everyone knows that! Though they alter the theme slightly every season. Anyway there's already a thread on House M.D.

I adore House, most of it at least. It can get pretty cheesy.

Here are some of my favourites:

Leftfield (the progressive house act. Absolute class. A lot of stuff going on, you can hear Afro-beat, reggae, hip hop, soul, breakbeat and house in here.)
Way Out West (more progressive stuff. Intensify is a class album. Again, a lot of stuff happening, mostly house, trance and breakbeats)
Layo & Bushwacka! (A bit of Tech House. I like most of their stuff, but Night Works is definitely the best. Each album is fairly narrow musically within itself, but the albums themselves are different to each other, and there tracks tend to be pretty layered)
Shapeshifters (A little bit cheesy I guess, but quite cool. very funky upbeat stuff.)
Bodyrox (not a lot of stuff out yet, but a prime example of the electro house stuff)
Tocadisco (more electro-house)
Basement Jaxx (Earlier stuff is basically dancefloor slammers, more recent stuff takes influences from all over the shop, from Bollywood to eastern european folk)

And obviously, I couldn't let this go without mentioning Faithless, although they aren't just house, they bridge through into Trance, Trip Hop and most other dance genres as well.

Those are basically my top house acts. If you listen to them and say which ones you like I can throw a few more your way. Also, The recommendations of BT are slightly misleading, I think? He is slightly more Trance than House.
