I don't think files can be passworded on PCs, not even in XP.

Got a CD burner handy? If so, burn them to CD and delete them from the computer's hard drive. Then hide the CD.

Just put 'em all in one big folder, which you cleverly disguise as "nothing going on in here, move along".

if you are using XP, with users you can make your folders so that only your logon can access them.

right click, properties, then someting about sharing or security, and tick the box.

if you are using 98, you can download programms that can pw protect folders.

You can only do that on Windows XP if you have formatted the drive to NTFS. There is no security like this on a FAT32 formatted system.

Alternately you could use winzip to zip the folders and password protect the zip files.

Or just hide them somewhere.

Maybe if you told us what OS you are using then a more specific answer might come your way. For instance if it were Win2k Im sure you can set permissions on folders.

might be slow if you have a lot of files though, so be careful

Encrypt the files using Onux or similar, then rename them, stick them in a folder called something like "Set_Op/Windows/Config", make some dummy files and put them in each folder, then put the encrypted files in the config folder. Then get a program like HideFolders to...hide the folders. Pretty failsafe, if the hidefolders doesnt work then it doesn't look suspicious and even if they do look all they are going to find is config files and unopenable files.

do as i do with my hack files. make a file in C:\WINDOWS called something simple and easy to remember like Stuff or Things and hide and encrypt it. to access that folder just put \yourfolder to the end of C:\WINDOWS. its very simple and i do it all the time.

You could just simply set the folder to hidden and hide it along a path of other folders, then set the Folder options to "do not show hidden files or folders",. as long as perents dont know how to turn hidden folders on they'll never find it!!!!

If you wanna hide your porn, just put it in a folder noone will check (e.g.C:\Progaram Files\Mario Teaches Typing\Data) and make this folder a hidden one. you could also zip them up and rename the zip file to like data.dat and noone will know what it is except for you!

What I was saying was that if your parents were to read this thread, they wouldn't need to know where it was, as you admitted already that is was porn you were trying to hide.

If you have a lot of time, try this:
Create 5-9 new folders anywhere and name them ''Number 1'', ''Number 2'', ... or just 1, 2, 3 ... In each of them, create about 5 (or more) new folders, and again, name them with numbers.
When you have done this a few times, put your porn in a folder and remember the number (C:\Random folder\3\2\5\2...).
There, you have your porn under a code!!

k i do have auto login on but only on my user, ive password protected all my stuff, ive hidden it really well ;) and i go a lot of other stuff in there as well
