It's hard to believe but...

I'm glad he's doing well with City, it took a lot of bottle to manage a club in England after all the stick he took as England manager and you can't deny he's made a good start. He's made some good signings and they seem to be gelling together well and it goes to show that he's not that bad a manager after all.

What Lazzars says.
It shows how bloody useless England are, Sven was berated, but is now showing with a good side how good he is.

Not really. It's just proving that he's a club manager, not a national manager. Rafa, Sir Alex, Wenger...all awesome club managers, but that doesn't mean they would definatly be top national ones. Plenty of great gaffers have fallen flat on their face in the international game.
I'm not surprised at all. Frankly, anyone who doubted Svens club management was an idiot. He's above and beyond the quality of manager that City should be able to attract.

If you look at his England record he was the 3rd most successful of all time behind Robson (Semi-final '90) and Ramsey (Winner '66). 2 quater finals isn't a bad acheivment, especially when we lost to Brazil and on penalties to Portugal. He had a good win % as well.
Done very well with City, thoroughly deserved award I think. They should do well this season.
