When I was drooling over the original Cobra, I was also daydreaming about the GT 40. The 40 designation is the car's height in inches!! It was merely a daydream because a great American driver, Dan Gurney, was using one to win the 24 hours of Le Mans. Smooth car, smooth drive, smooth win going away. Left the Ferarris and Porches in the dark.

There was also an open-top sequel called the "J" car. It was sexy to look at too.

All these cars make me want to win the damned lottery so I can go out and collect some!!!

Another great race car of the time was the Chaparral, built only ten miles from where I sit at this moment.

I awserd this as soon as I saw it, So if someone else did, I didn't see thier reply. The GT 40 is called that becuse it is only 40 inches tall, from the road to the roof. Like a 500 hp go-cart. Hehe, those things rock. I can't wait to see them in LeMans races.
