Argghh... Some fuckers have just broken into my parents company and robbed all the petty cash.
We have an alarm that phones the house when there is an intruder, and we live close by so we were there (I drove them as they've both been drinking) in literally 5 minutes and rung the police as soon as we saw the lights on and that the door had been kicked in.
Police came and searched around but they'd already gone, so now were just waiting for a guy from the insurance company to come and board the door up and forensics are coming tomorrow to find fingerprints.
The police told us they'd had another call in the area about 10 minutes earlier so they think it might be the same guys.
So now me and my parents haven't had any sleep yet and to top it off, it's my mum's birthday today. :p
Some people really are absolute cunts.
(Oh and also... We usually have a webcam set up in the office that is recording all night, but it happened to have been unplugged the other day because someone needed a usb port.... Sod's law eh?)
Edit - Door is fixed now... It's finally bedtime. :)

Gutted although it's not as bad as that kids club that got broke into and trashed a couple of times. At least you had something worth stealing as opposed to sensless destruction.
Good luck getting a good nights sleep.

Unfortunately, these people are in and out in a couple of mins. Not a nice thing to go through for your parents though. I hope they catch the idiots.

Well the police came and looked for fingerprints on the drawer they stole the cash tin from but didn't find anything. :(
Ah well... insurance will cover the door damage and lost money and they've now got a better reason to help persuade the landlord to put a fence around the property. :)

I think anyone who breaks into your house / premises deserves everything they get, never mind this "reasonable force" rubbish. If you have broken into someones house, you have broken the law, therefore you have conciously decided not to obey societies rules and laws, therefore, why should they be used to protect you from a fucking good kicking?
and a knife in the dick.
Fucking wankers, the lot of them.

Cycling on the pavement is also illegal
Would you support a fucking good kicking for pavement-cyclists?

No, but a slap would suffice in that case.
The punishment should, after all, fit the crime :)

I use the wider pavements so I don't get run over by big trucks. :(

Also my good computer got stolen a week ago today, along with 2 cameras >:[ Weird thing is they stole the tower to the computer, but not the large widescreen monitor (which in all fairness is worth more than the computer), good bassy speakers, external hard drive, or printer. I'm guessing they got spooked by something.
Anyway we had forensics round and i guess they decided it was a waste of time trying to find fingerprints (thief had obviously unplugged all of the leads from the back of the tower) so did nothing. Insurance should be coming through soon, would be sooner if there wasn't a postal strike. It wasn't breaking and entering though, my parents accidently left the back door unlocked. The other weird thing is we live in a really quiet neighbourhood, this actually being the first reported crime in 4 years. Not exactly a streak you want broken :/
So anyway, I know where you're coming from Quack and hope the thief(s) get caught.

Anyone who commits any serious crimes like this should get their hands chopped off, lets see them try to rob someone with no hands.

Worded completely wrongly, but the principle is good.
Man who cycles on pavement without justification = slap with fish
Man who breaks into someones house = a good kicking.

Your parents run a company together? Maaaan, that's so romantic. I bet they're always fucking on the boardroom table after meetings and stuff.

Am I the only person who thinks the "reasonable force" rule is a good law?
No one seems to realise that most juries and judges allow a fair amount of lenience on these cases. It's mostly to prevent violent tossers from beating somebody back to the mental age of 3 and then hiding behind the "they broke the law" excuse, and to prevent people from getting shot, I suppose.
While I think burglary is a horrible crime, I think that all these reactionary viewpoints on it are ridiculous. People overreact because in their heads they play up the similarity to rape.
People who burgle people on Christmas Eve deserve to have the nadgers fed to them, though.

The problem is that they don't realize what the society (shops being part of it) gives to them. If they had tried I'm sure they could get some jobs. But they're too lazy and stupid.
Why don't we send them to workcamps? That way they would at least do some good.

I am quite sure you wouldn't have such a lenient view if you had been burgled. I hate the fact that scumbags think they can break into your house and do what the hell they like. I prefer the american system where home defense is a legitimate right.

Defending yourself and property is recognised in british law you plank, but the methods in which to defend it or indeed punish intruders is frankly idiotic.

Thats my point, dimwit. Whilst you can defend your property, if you injure a thief in the course of defending your home, they can prosecute you for it.
da-geezer

Well, it's not quite as inflexible as that. Reasonable force by it's very nature is liable to cause reasonable injury, and you're not likely to get prosecuted for that.
A "knife in the dick" however, is just daft really.
