View Full Version : What was your fave toy...

One of your favourite toys you can remember from your childhood, why it was, what it was and when.

I used to have a massive collection of Starcom figures and veichles. They were cool cuz the men had magnets on their feet and the veichles and ships were generally metal so you could simulate zero G. HOW COOL IS THAT!

This was about 1988.

Lego. You can make the sets, play with them, then make something else. My favourite was the pirate ship which I still have and is now on top of our fridge. I got it when I was about 7.

Never thought about what my favourite toy was before, and now I can't really remember much of what I had. I had some pretty cool Micro Machines stuff :D I think I'm gonna have to say Lego as well though. I made a lot of spaceships and robots and stuff.

Ooh, I just remembered that I had a Mighty Max Skull Mountain (http://www.mightymax.co.uk/toys.html). That had some pretty cool stuff in it, including a two-headed dragon :D

I remember having the Sylvanian Families mansion with all the little animal figures. It even had a toilet that made a flushing noise when u pressed the handle! Kept me amused for hours. It had felt curtains up at the windows with plastic flowers, and the kitchen had all the plates and little plastic croissants and bagels :p

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff10/gabber-baby/gn-20070119-01.jpg

And i also remember having this ugly plastic doll - Baby Born. I vaguely remember having sachets of this powder stuff that u mixed in with water, and when you "fed" her, she wee'd out this yellow crap :D Just like the real thing i suppose. I found her the other day in the shed, covered in permanent marker and biro drawings.

These were from around 1992-ish.

I remember i used to watch it with my older bro when i was about 7. There was a kid who lived near us who was a little bit slow and not really all there. Me and my brother had him going for years that i was Kimberly, the pink power ranger. When he used to ask my bro where i was, my brother would say i was out "mighty morphing".
Everytime i went out to play, he was there...just staring at me. He really fell for it. Dumbass.

I remember the Star Wars Lego!
I had some, but not much, I was realy dissapointed when I wasn't allowed the Lego electronic R2D2 though...

I remember, the biggest bit of Lego I ever had was some Harry potter Train thing, it took my Dad ages to put together...The biggest peace, which I made myself, and I still have, is some random super long spaceship thing, complete with an inside...pieces of it are missing, probably never to be found...

I kept the ship as a little monument...I was always taking down Lego and building random things. I used to get boxes of things, which were meant to make one thing, which I'd use to go off and make another thing...

Good times...

Yeah, just building massive things out of bits an pieces was the main reason I love Lego. I loved making dungeons and stuff with traps in them, reminded me of Pitfall! That game was class...
My all time favourite Lego constructoin was my Lego Slave 1 though, Boba Fett was THE man. Before they changed his voice an stuff in the new remasters...

Speaking of Robotech, I think I may have had two of the toys, which I only figured out when I looked at an advert for a Robotech game, saw "UN SPACEY" written down the side of the robot and realised it was on the toys too.
