I'm possibly going to a party at some point (this Sunday? Next Sunday? Who knows). Now, great I'm sure (since my social life consists of my best friend, the Internet), but this comes attatched with several issues-

1. It has a theme. The theme has been given as 'old skool', which I presume entails 70s/80s. Fair enough, I suppose. It could be worse.

2. Linked to issue one is the fact that I'm a svelte size 16-18 ish. And if I'm honest, I'd rather not look like an experimental Razzle Dazzle tent for an entire garrison.

So, chaps and chapettas, I seek advice. It doesn't have to be a mega-indepth costume because I don't have time and can't be arsed, but at least in keeping with the theme. I do have a waist of some sort, so something fitted=win, as does low neckline.

Ta muchly.

Go as Arthur Dent, that way you can wear a comfortable dressing gown with nothing underneath!

is a size 16 big or small or what?
because if you're going '70s', man, just sew sequins everywhere
nobody will be able to comment on your outfit anyway because they will be blind!
or you know wear some more normal stuff
but sequins

Be a hippie, it's close enough to the 70s/80s.

Go as Foxy Brown with an afro and a waistcoat thing with flares.

Awesome.

Yeah, the flares will add to curvaceousness (which probs isn't a word, but hey) which I'm assuming you have :) seeing as you said you have a waist- always indicates inny-outy things going on with the figure.

So yes, I approve, go as Foxy Brown.

Go for the 80s. Big pastel suit, shoulder pads, fake tan, and over-the-top hair.

I bought a grey top today that's semi-hippie, my current plan is to scavenge a pair of very wide-legged black trousers and get some silver jewellery (including the obligatory peace symbol necklace). I've already got hippie hair, so that's no problem.

Go as Boxy Brown. Post a picture of you doing so and I'll buy you a drink (to be sent via Royal Mail).

Go dressed like this, but stick your arms so that they are crossed in a b-boy stance. Then try and get girls to hold drinks for you while you drink them.
