Hmmm. It's probably not runining your life.
If your cookies are stale in like 30 mins then there's something seriously wrong and I'd stop buying them.
Also, have a pop over to beginners and get a feel for the place.

Subway cookies always look horrid but taste pretty darned good, even if they're not fresh :)

Yes this.
Subway cookies actually taste rich and homemade.
Back when I worked at Target, the janitors (who worked night shifts at Publix) would leave the closing employees all sorts of treats that the Publix was getting rid of.
Rolls, cheese danish, strudel, apple pastries.
Each night ended with NOM NOM NOM.

Make your own.
I made some of the chocolate ones from Nigella Express last night. They're the tops.

Hmmm, I wish I had cookies at work.
Then again, maybe I should get a job first.

I have a job, but no cookies. I don't think they are clean-room friendly.

i have cookies but no job
If they're not Otis Spunkmeyer, don't buy them. Don't even look at them. Burn them, in fact. OS's are the best anytime, no questions, but even better 5-10 minutes out of the oven, when they're still hot and partially melty.
Any sooner than is even nicer, but at risk of seriously burning yourself, and losing half the cookie by having it run through your fingers. Sometimes though, it's worth the pain.
If anyone else has had them, you'll know what I mean. And guess where they make 'em? Location: :D
