UK release today, bought it after school.

Im only on Ember Isle after saving Astrid now but so far im loving it! the graphics are superb! and Linebeck is hilarious. i enjoyed the boatride and the use of the 'writing down number of palm trees on board' thing. (which resulted into writing rude words on there..)

Apparently, buying a UK version, then selling the US version for more than I bought it for is a stupid idea, so I have to wait for the post. Which is now at the 14 working days...

Yeah only thing I dislike is the fact that I've now returned to a certain area for the 4th time. Other than that it's a joy to play :D and the controls are gorgeous!

It nice and all. Yes returning to same place is not that fun. Not really challenging though. The only reason I die is because I'm playing Orange Box at the same time. Very good use of DS features. I like editing my maps and stuff.

i got to a bit earlier that annoyed the living fuck out of me, the controls of using the sword really arent responsive when you need them to be. yes thats right link run around in a little circle instead of swinging your sword. bastard.

I don't have any problem with the sword controls... what I can't do is run to the left without blocking the screen. >.>

Got 2 of the 3 pure metals so far. Yay for Gorons!

i dont really use the "draw line between you and enemy to slash" option much. I mainly tap them...

Just got the fishing rod and salvage arm, btw the part where you close the DS to print the location of the Sun Key is fucking clever O_O

Indeed. But not quite as good as the closing one on Another Code/ Trace Memory. That isn't just closing the DS to make something happen, you actually reflect an image off the top screen to the bottom one.

Pretty good game, and the stylus controls work really well. If I have a problem with it, it's the fact that it's more babyish than a 4Kids anime dub. I don't need to be told twelve times to mark stuff on my map or have things reiterated three times before it lets me do it (thanks to having a brain, I have this thing called 'memory'), and the script has been written for kids with no sense of subtlety or the ability to make the slightest leap of logic. Also, it funnels you along too much with little scope for doing things in a less linear order, often for inane reasons like someone telling you not to go into the dark scary cave. Even the multiple choice dialogue forces you to pick a specific answer, otherwise you end up looping back to the same question within a single sentence.

Otherwise, it's pretty damn good, and very inventive. It's the sort of game I can wave in my housemate's face when he claims that the PSP is a better gaming device than the DS (because it has more graphics, of course).

I bought this game today on the way back from the orthodontist's and I am pleasently surprised. I didn't think it would be this good :D The graphics are better than any other DS game I've seen and the controls are flawless!

I'm stuck on Cannon Island. A trip to Gamefaqs is in order I think...

I know what you mean by being reminded 10 times on a island to note stuff down on the map

By the way did anyone else have trouble on the drawing a Triforce symbol on the picture door in the Temple of the Ocean King? i kept drawing it really steadily and it says " nothing happened" or " you need to get the shape right

this game looks really good

which is weird because i've never liked a zelda game before

perhaps i will get it

but first i need to get my own ds, playing on my sister's pink ds is no good for my street-cred

Just got this game, loving it so far. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the whole scribble little circles at the edge of the screen to roll. I keep thinking it will wreck my screen because I'm heavy handed :P.

edit: Nevermind, bodged on some transparent sheet stuff with tape, works fine! :D

Has anyone played the Wi-Fi battle mode much? Not that impressed myself, though I'm not sure what I was exactly expecting.

I played it once, and didn't have much idea what was going on. Why couldn't they have just had a Shadow Battle mode?

(Four Swords, btw)

I find the Phantoms very unresponsive was the only thing. Like they would walk down path and then they jog on the spot ( and my connections good!)

as well as i suck compared to everyone else on wi-fi

just completed the Goron fire temple and got the crimsonine i thought swapping between the goron and link to fight the boss was brilliant

Now that it isn't prodding me along a pre-designated path so much any more, I am loving this more than life itself. I take back any criticism I had of it; this is one of the best games I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

^ Woo!

Finally got the last sea chart out the fricking temple of the ocean king, when i saw the new yellow phantoms i thought, oh hell no! Well they are a bit easy..

I thought the grappling hook was really good, like using it to catapault around

I went to the Isle of Dead place first before the Isle of Ruins because it seems i cant get through ( i looked on map, i didnt go up to it)

This game is truelly excellent. It just makes me tingle playing it! Im not a huge fan of console Zeldas, always seem to work better on handhelds. Only problem with this is the rolling, it was perfect in Minish Cap to press a shoulder button to roll, they should've kept that option in!

matt bird

yeah i agree with that, though there's only been one situation i can remember where you actually need to roll, and that's only to get some sweet rupees

Just got this today, I'm up to just finishing ember island. Rolling is easier if you drag your stylus to the edge twice quickly.
