This is a right now thing; I have a lot of stuff that needs doing, paperwork, housekeeping, etc, and I'm not great at doing it during the day. I just can't get motivated. Thing is, I know that if I don't go to sleep, I'll get bored and be forced to do the things that need doing (which have been slowly building up over the last month).

Here's the catch: I already did this last night. As of now, I haven't slept in 36 hours. So, should I stay up, and get rid of a sizeable chunk of work (not to mention anxiety), or get some rest while I can, bearing in mind that it's highly unlikely I'll get any of this work done during Saturday/Sunday (in the daytime at least).

Give it to me straight, forumites. (Reasons for/against, medical or otherwise, would be appreciated. This is not a ChzBn thread, I'm totally serious.)

You'll work better when you've slept, so you can either force yourself to do the work saturday/sunday, or do it when you're really out of it and it not be the best work in the world.
House work would be fine to do today to get it out of the way :)
But paper work, you can get out of the way better, when you've had decent kip.

I'm afraid this isn't possible. I have absolutely no respect for myself, so I never listen to my own good advice. I mean, there's always a chance, but that's what I told myself the last three weekends, and I still didn't do anything.

It's hard to describe just how useless I am; if part of me doesn't want to do it, it has to be the last resort before I'll finally get going. It's not something I can change overnight, though I wish I could.

Alternatively, imaginative ways to force me to wake up would be helpful too. (Practical, please)

If working nights/sleep depravation has taught me anything, you can't do feck all useful if you dont at least grab the occasional cat-nap.

You missed the "Have more fucking faith in myself" option. You can get sleep now and get it done in the morning.

Went to the gym for an hour and a half, then went to bed.

That was the best night's sleep I've had in a month, which would someway explain my apathy during the daytime. At least I have a solution now; if I start getting existential/bored/depressed/insomniac, just work out until I'm too tired to stand (Really handy option, the gym's only 5 minutes from my front door).

Thanks for the advice peoples, though TBH, after I got back I couldn't have stayed up if I'd wanted to ;)

I'll give you a good few tips on procrastination, right after you clean up that fucking mess.

Normally I would sleep unless it's some very important work, then I would work to get it over with.
