View Full Version : Why do the endings of Kingdom Hearts games make no sense?

Think about it:
Kingdom Hearts: Suddenly for no reason you're fighting completely unexplained "cores" on a floating ship that you magically fly around on. Then you fight a guy who grows to enormous heights for no reason, and a evil face, wtf?
Kingdom Hearts 2: First you run through a bunch of buildings, then disable weird machine stuff that is again, completely unexplained. Suddenly, the laws of phyics don't seem to apply and you're flying towards ships whinle a depressed-looking king guy chucks buildings at you. Then eerythings goes all white and empty, and then you're on a beach.
And why is it always like 7 boss fights in a row?

Since when did physics ever apply in those games?
And final bosses always come in multiple stages. It's just the way they are.

Restricting the scope of the battles to make them fit with the rest of the narrative would be even crazier than the insane finales that came as a result of sticking two fingers to sanity and consistency. The question you should be asking is: why shouldn't you finish a game by dodging flying buildings and blowing up towering machines?

Funny...it made sense to me.
KH1:That's just the final boss' look. He essentially melded himself with a gigantic Heartless ship looking thingy and to even get to the boss to kill him, you have to weaken the ship.
KH2: The final boss makes sense there. The big machine dragon was obviously constructed as a failsafe so after the last boss was beaten, he would automatically teleport to that triggering a battle you couldn't hope to win under normal circumstances. The guy in armor is the same final boss...he's just wearing armor now, also he's lobbing buildings at you cause he can...you are in a city after all. The white area where you do the VERY last battle was probably created by the last boss to create a battlefield where you could safely fight before the city you were just in collapsed. When that disappeared, you ended up in the realm of darkness on a beach, hence the ending.

Ugh, they've never made sense, especially how Sora was all about that girl for forever and he didn't even give her a hug or anything when they finally met up.
He went and hugged his friend though?

is it wrong this is on my iPod ?No. I have it on my computer (not my mp3 player right now though, but never say never :p). I have both versions of it, actually, the opening and ending theme. And an orchestrated instrumental version from one of the Kingdom Hearts 2 trailers. I also have the KH2 theme on here as well.

Yeah, I agree with the original poster!
Other games that make no sense: mario, sonic, halo, just about every game ever made ever when you think about it.
As of now, the only games that will be permitted are fully realistic flight simulators, because everything else is just too unbelievable, you know?

I love the KH2 theme; the intro to the game is a beautiful mess of metaphorical imagery that makes no damn sense if you haven't played the first game.

What I don't like about Kindgom Hearts is throughout the whole game you play with sora, donald and goofy but on both of the last boss characters donald and goofy get blocked by an wall or go through a portal so you are left alone. Also you can only use the additional characters on the world they come from so it's pointless using them.

But...but...Auron! Auron is teh awesome!
Also, the last boss on KH2 is better cause you do the whole thing with Riku.

Except maybe Beast, he fucking kicked ass. Plus you don't have a choice with him, for a while at least. I don't think I ignored them as much in the second game, since some of those limit breaky things were quite cool.

There was just one thing that annoyed me about the very last boss in KH2: the final attack where he fires hundred and hundreds of spikes at you, and you have to hit triangle over and over to deflect them. no matter what I did, what buttons I pressed or how fast I pressed them, I got hit by every single one, and it was only by having a completely maxed-out, full health bar that I survived with one hit left in me. I almost burst a blood vessel screaming for mercy as my health went ever downwards. What was I doing wrong?

Fix'd.
But seriously, every time I feel like get bored enough to want to try a Kingdom Hearts game, it always comes down to this: 5 minutes before successfully locating a playable copy, I realise why I haven't played them already; my intense dislike of a) Disney and b) Sora.

The story is much more Square than Disney. Basically the only thing that's Disney is the characters and some of the locations. Some of the story elements are taken from Disney too, obviously, but only within the appropriate world.

You actually have to tap triangle and X at the same time, I also didn't get this the first time too.

Triangle only makes Riku deflect attacks, to have Sora not get hit you need to push X repeatedly as well.
EDIT: How did I miss eidderf's post?
