anyone seen it yet?

watched it last night and was slightly disappointed and very confused

perhaps if i can figure out the ending i'll appreciate it more

the gore was brilliant as usual and more real-looking than ever, the acting was a little cheesier than the last few but still alright

all it is, is that ending, after rigg fails his test and kills the other officer with the 2 blocks of ice, i understand that bit, just not the rest of it where it reveals who the new killer guy is and who the other random fat guy running around the building is etc...)

so yeah, it was alright, and if anyone wants to explain the ending to me, that'd be great :p

edit: ah, checked yahoo answers, here's the meaning of the whole film > http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071027024508AAq0iN4 (SPOILERS)

upon reading that i do appreciate it more :p it's actually quite clever

I havent seen it yet, dont like being cramped in the Swindon cinemas myself, but people i know who have seen it have also said it was really confusing.

Remember when Swindon had two cineworlds? Those surely were the days.

So is it worth going to see? My flatmate is up for it but I'm still not sure.

I do indeed!!
Now its a UGC and an Empire cinema that used to be Cineworld

I dont know if Empire makes it better :/

But I went in to see 28 weeks later at about 11pm on a friday night drunk with my friends :D and because they hadnt seen it they kept asking me really loudly and drunkenly what happens next and I wouldnt tell them :D

Went to see it on Friday, there was this chav couple in there who'd sneaked their 7-8 year old son in! Wrongness.

I thought it was good and it all made sense to me first time :s But then I did have a refresher and watched all 3 Saws consecutively beforehand.

All I know is that Saw is one of the worst films I can remember seeing in the last several years. Unless Saw IV is SERIOUSLY different to the first, I imagine it's even more awful than the first. How does it compare?

I actually preferred Saw 1 to 2 and 3 (haven't seen 4 yet.)

I liked 1 for the whole psychological aspect it showed for a horror film, I also like how possible it would have been to create the traps.

2 and especially 3 went overboard with the traps, although 2 still had some charm to it.

I would see this just to know what was up with that tape that he poured wax over in 3.

Yeah.

I might go see if I can find it on the intern-I mean go out and see it right now.

i'm tempted to watch the others now cause i can't even remember what happened in 3 now

turnip: if you hated the first then you'll hate all 4

Damn, I'd really like to like them because I love gorey movies and films with twists, but I think that just adds to my hate for them. I mean, I've seen so many insanley gorey films that I don't think Saw was gorey enough to deserve to revel in how gorey it was, because it was barely gorey at all to be honest. I could write an essay on what I didn't like with them though, I think I'll just leave this thread to you guys and spare you the hassle of reading another post like this.

Every halloween, a new saw comes out, and every halloween, I just _have_ to download a shitty cam rip from bittorrent and watch it in blurry grain-o-vision.

This film is exactly as awful as the past three; the only actually good Saw film was the original, which was genuinely frightening because it was sort-of believable. The barbed wire trap from the first film actually really resonated, because it really wouldn't be that hard for someone to set up if they knew what they were doing. Since then, they've got more and more improbable. I watch them and I'm sickened at myself for still giving into this ritual every year, because I know it will be shitty, and watching the rubbish cam rip version makes it even worse, because half the action is obscured by someone standing up during the film or something stupid like that.

And yet I keep feeling compelled to return to it. I guess I'm just a sick puppy.

In conclusion, this film is awful, but it's at least consistently awful. Some of the set-pieces are just mind-bogglingly retarded, but if you're as much of a sucker as me, you'll watch it anyway - if just to piss yourself laughing when the latest improbably complex trap is presented and you're expected to just accept it.

I was kinda hoping this would be the finale.

But its clear they want to make another one.

oh well.

there was something about the first Saw that made it a decent movie. As far as I know... none of that something was ever used in the next three...

I learned my lesson with From Dusk til Dawn 2... (because Critters 4 wasn't enough)
