....I need your advice.
Sorry, not as epic as you may have thought from the thread title, but alas, its true. My indecisive brain can't work out if I want a PS3 or not. I've got access to a wii (its a communal one but still) I've also personally got a 360.... BUT that Ratchet and Clank game and Time Crisis 4 are really really looking cool! Trouble is, can I justify £350 for one game thats out now and one thats out next year! Gamers....please help me decide! I should also add the only reason I'm toying with this is due to a whopping £1,000 overpaid taxes I just got back from work:jam:
Thanks to all who contribute btw! Also....COD4 OMFG THATS GONNA BE GOOD. excitement over.

Personally there's no way that I would buy a PS3 if I already have a Wii and a 360, even if I did have a keen interest in any of the platform specific games, which I don't...
But then again, you may be loaded, so go ahead!

Well being a lover of the ratchet and clank games i'd say go for it, but then again i'm sure the £350 could be put to a better use elsewhere, especially seeing as you have a 360 and a wii
Wait until the price comes down more, the way its going now it'll be the same price as the Wii in the summer. Also then there might be more than two games you want for it by then.
I'm happy with my Wii60 pakage though to be honest.

I, personally, can't stand the PS3, due to it's blatent disreguard to gamers. But I'd say don't, unless ya REALLY REALLY REALLY x30 want a game which is exclusive to it. Damn horders...........
Don't do it, Assassins creed is out soon, get that instead!

If you're not fussed about backwards compatibility with PS2 games and the like (after all you can just play them on said consoles if you're that desperate), you could always grab yourself the 40GB PS3, which is £50 cheaper than the 60GB model. If you are fussed about BC, 4 USB ports, the card reader and fancier trim on the console, then grab the 60GB before they run out (the 40GB model is becoming the default SKU of the console). Chances are there wont be any more price cuts for a while because of this one.

This.
There are precious few titles worth getting for the PS3 and the fact that sales haven't been anywhere near stellar compared to the Wii and 360 coupled with all the foot shootings happening at Sony HQ lately means that more and more 3rd-party developers are going to want to steer clear of this turkey, much like they did with the Gamecube.

I think the Blu-Ray v HD competition will decide the future of the PS3. Anyway, a large amount of games are now being released on 360, PS3 & Wii.

I'm not even getting involved in the HD wars at the moment. No point as the next generation of ultra-HD formats are already being developed and reasonably close to being marketable.

There's plenty of good games coming out for 360 and wii, i doubt you'll need the ps3 aswel.
Just to name some games: Ace Combat 6, Mass Effect, Metroid Prime 3, Unreal Tournament 3, Assassin's Creed
Is Ratchet & Clank really that essential when you have all of these?

Buy 7 xbox games instead of 1 console.
Plus the 'PS3 specific games' will mostly get ported in time I'm sure. Xbox have kinda stolen a good few game specific ones from ps3, so now they're more universal.

No ace combat 6! You disgust me...
And why not put some money towards rock band? Just like guitar hero but better!

I just got confused by Ace Combat demo, didnt have a clue which way was up!
Rock Band is interesting, but I think I'd wanna try the drum kit first.....though the geeeetar looks funky with its second set of buttons.

Protip: up is where the ground isn't.
AC6 demo was really fun but I don't think I'll be getting it, unless I find it cheap later on. There's too much more exciting stuff to play at the moment.

but... but... but...
Ace Combat! :(
U don't recognize its obvious superiority
U can't get much more fun than 16 player online dogfights

I'm not knocking it, I'm just busy with other games.
I'm not such a big fan of 16 player online stuff to be honest, I'd rather play a small game with friends. I have more fun playing a two player game with a "real life" friend and concentrating on calling him rude names rather than playing with internet people that I'm too polite to call rude names. :)
