Now an innocent man has been killed by police - who now seem to be no better than those they are 'protecting' the public from.

Italian football is getting worse and worse. Corruption rears around every corner of the entire spectrum of the game, hooligans are worse than those seen in England in the 80's, games are being stopped due to crowds being out of controll and here we have ANOTHER death.

When will UEFA get their act together and start cracking down. Yes, a good deal lays with the italian government - but UEFA MUST start to take action. All italian clubs should be banned from Europe and it's an absolute shock that they have not been yet. I for one don't want to see english football fans injured or killed should there be a tie with an italian team. Imagine what will happen if Man U play Roma again, or Liverpool play Juve. Games should be played behind closed doors if the clubs cannot controll their fans.

Italian football truely is a stain on our game, and it can't be allowed to continue. England were handed a 5 year ban from all European competition - why has a simular punishment not been handed to Italy? You have to ask yourself...would it be the same if all this trouble was happening in England? It makes you wonder how deep the italian corruption of the game goes.

If proper action is not taken soon, we WILL have another Hillsborough, and UEFA will have the blood on their hands for not seeing the inevitable.

UEFA sit on their hands unless the voilence takes place within the stadium. Galatasary fans in 200 killed 2 Leeds fans, then caused another fan to die when they met Arsenal. UEFA did nothing.

The Milan derby in the 2005 Champions League semis, nothing. Nobody was killed, therefore UEFA don't seem to see it as a problem. They simply banned fans for a couple of games. Same with the Roma-United match.

On the topic of domestic Italian voilence, its not all on UEFA. The Italian federation has to take action first and foremost, yet they seem to accept it as part of the game. Also, the fans don't seem to get it. The man was killed because they were fighting. So, the answer must be to show police your anger through MORE fighting. MORE police presence. MORE chance of someone else getting killed. The fans even beat up two journalists. That surely shows how mindless they are.

UEFA SHOULD take action. But I think it should be the Italian federation who get it in the neck for not trying to sort out this sort of thing. I'm not naive enough to think that we completely erradicated the hooligan problem in this country, far from it, but at least we acknowledged the problem and tackled it head on. Through this we got results.

The Italian teams don't deserve to be banned from Europe merely on the basis that some fools are a bit rowdy. This is a domestic problem. But I do agree that if the voilence we saw last year and in 2005 rears its ugly head this year, UEFA have to take action.

Imagine what will happen if Man U play Roma againThey do. And Roma's qualification could hinge on it. It will be this game that will make UEFA sit up and take notice. Roma's fans will not take kindly having been battered 7-1, plus they are just plain voilent.

Plus, when it comes to English teams, I think we get picked on - by both fans and police - purely through our reputation. They want to beat - no pun intended - the, so-called, best. It doesn't help.

I agree with that totally. Whenever English fans do anything wrong then everyone in the footbaling world comes down on them like a ton of bricks. When another country's fans do it......not a peep.

Anyway, I also agree with the fact that the Italian FA needs to do something about this and tackle it head on like the English FA did in the 80s/90s. It is disgusting and really needs to be dealt with. The Italians need to do something and soon.
