If you like DotT, it's worth checking out some of the other LucasArts point 'n' click games, like Sam & Max or the Monkey Island series.

i never played day of the tentacle although i am sure i would like it. My favorite game ever is the prequel to dott (maniac mansion). The above link is a spruced up freeware version of this game

shame they don't make point and click adventure games anymore (at least to my knowledge)

It is my understanding that this is basically a point and click on Mr Wii.

Also 9/10 so hurrah.

My favourite game of all time <3

It's a shame they don't make things like that, Simon the Sorcerer and Sam & Max (the new episodes are good, but just don't feel the same) any more :(

Day Of The Tentacle was great - I've got it on this machine (on CD).

The new Sam And Max is fantastic, too - although, as Lewiji points out, not the same as the original. It is entirely point and click.

Shame LucasArts stopped making adventure games.

Day of the tentacle was one of the best - Still haven't completed it to this day. The only other games physically comparable where the early monkey island games, oh the rubber chicken.... and the stupid sword fight in the forest with insults..... ahhh... anyway..

I think there was a re-release of both the sam and max and dott games in one box. If I can remember (and amazon can be trusted) it was released sometime this year. I'm still after getting it to complete dott and recomplete sam and max. Anyone got any clue whether the new sam and max has finally been compiled into one series box, or annoyingly do you still have to buy each episode separately?

Yeah, the old Sam and Max / Tentacle games pack is what I have.

The new Sam and Max Series 1 box is available now on CD in most shops - GAME have it, as do anywhere that sells games. It's also available (slightly cheaper, but without any extra goodies) online from Gametap and Steam.

Thats been out for years and I have it. :D

DotT kicked as back in the day, but I would say that in comparison to the other Lucasarts adventure games its about 4th or 5th place overall.

Nothing beats Grim Fandango.

I used to love that game!

Unfortunately, it always made my computer crash. I had the original Maniac Mansion on the NES as well, and often play it.

I had the sam and max/ dott box thingy. I think I got it when I was about 8 or so, so I spent my of my time walking around not doing much. I think it was before I had internet, so I didn't go on any spoiler sites.

I think the neverhood was just as good. Maybe I liked it better because the clay made it more unique.
