and bloody Yahoo! Messenger have buggered up my father's PC 3 times between them. I'm not looking for a fix, but if anyone knows the problem, please share.
What I am looking for is a VoIP service that won't crash my dad's 5 year old XP yet again. Being this old (and not a pedigree racer to begin with) the specs aren't great, but I don't think that's the problem. With both Skype and Yahoo, we'd get 2 to 5 minutes through a call, then his computer would crash, leaving me somewhat bemused when he suddenly stopped talking (since you don't get a 'dead tone' on internet phones).
Any suggestions on a more friendly piece of kit? (We started out with Tesco, which ironically works for him but not for me, since my Uni's intranet layout messes with Tesco's way of connecting the phone)
