I posted about my processor being slower than expected a little while ago. I've just looked on my BIOS and Hyper Transport was disabled. Doesn't that mean that the cores were working separately or only one was in use or something? Does Hyper Transport shift tasks onto both cores at the same time?

Anyway I want to enable it, but the settings menu has options I don't quite understand:

K8 <-> NB HT Width:
(down arrow) 8 (up arrow) 8
(down arrow)16 (up arrow)16

HT Spread spectrum:

0.50% H. kiss cntr
0.75% H. kiss cntr
0.50% Triang. Center
0.75% Triang. Center

I have an AMD X2 6000+ processor

No, bios settings don't have anything to do with that really, tasks are assigned to cores by the Operating system.

Read (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HyperTransport) this and leave it alone. The benefits of it are highly situational anyway.
