There is a lack of Game-cubeness...
I don't know whether there been one already (and it was a fail) or not.
But, I think that there should be one for us peoples who like to keep our gaming... more, on the old-school side of life...if you know what I mean...
So yeah, what do you think??

Don't most just talk about it in the Wii thread?
HatBadger
23-11-2007, 04:12 PM
Yeah, mmmmmaybe...
I don't really know, I should have found out first...
Even then, wouldn't that count as some sort of flamming, or spamming, or whatever it's called, off-topic.
It would be easier to have a thread just for the Game-cube... me thinks...

It's actually GameCube, not Game-cube.
Of course, it's actually much closer to a cuboid than a cube, anyway.

there still a bunch of things I want for gamecube, what's people opinions on:
*viewtiful joe
*metroid prime (or should I jump straight to 3 on the wii)
*f-zero GX (or is the n64 one better?)
*Starfox Assault or Adventures (as I want another starfox game other than the n64 version (even though I know Adventures isn't much of a starfox game.. (wow lots of brackets)))
also I was thinking about getting the gamecube gameboy player.
The Gameboy Player is decent enough, but is more of a novelty. I stopped using it after about 3 weeks tbh.
Plus, they're quite hard to get right now.

ah, cos at the moment I've been trying to play my gameboy under my desk lamp at a jaunty angle and getting a stiff neck.
it must be better than that right?
there still a bunch of things I want for gamecube, what's people opinions on:
*viewtiful joeOne of the best games on the whole damn system. Pick it or the second one up if you can.
*metroid prime (or should I jump straight to 3 on the wii)If you go straight to the third one, you will be a little disoriented after coming back to the first. The first and second are much more exploration based, which personally annoyed me as I wouldn't play it for months then forget where exactly I had to go. Depends what you like in a game though.
*f-zero GX (or is the n64 one better?)GET THIS NOW. For racers on the GameCube, it bends Double Dash over and fucks it right in the arse. Its such a blistering adrenaline rush to play this game and provides hours upon hours of fun.
*Starfox Assault or Adventures (as I want another starfox game other than the n64 version (even though I know Adventures isn't much of a starfox game.. (wow lots of brackets)))Many people hated both, but I had a soft spot for them. I suppose I liked Adventures more because I hadn't played Starfox before and didn't know what to compare it to, so I found it to be an engaging and enjoyable game (if a little easy). Assault is a little short on the single-player side of things, but multi-player is always hellafun.
also I was thinking about getting the gamecube gameboy player.Bit of a novelty really, but if you find one cheap then go for it.
In unrelated news, I played Four Swords Adventure for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It is THE most fun I have ever had in multiplayer, as you constantly teeter between co-operation and fighting each other. You'll be trying to do one puzzle when the guy with the fire wand "accidentally" sets you all alight, sending you all on a 10-minute revenge rampage. Its hilarious.

23-11-2007, 08:35 PM
*viewtiful joe YES, it is awesome although hard
*metroid prime I haven't played 3 so I don't know about the story, although MP1 is awesome
*f-zero GX GX is the better one, SERIOUSLY better
*Starfox Assault or Adventures (as I want another starfox game other than the n64 version (even though I know Adventures isn't much of a starfox game.. (wow lots of brackets))) Get LYLAT WARS

Mario Kart for the Gamecube was fun, but lame as hell. Slow Karts, bland tracks, uninspired graphics.
F-Zero GX was a masterpiece. Fast and fun and wonderful...and some of the best graphics the Cube pulled off.
Starfox Adventures was..... :/
Starfox Assault was way too easy.
Metroid Primes are always good.
Viewtiful Joe is one of the hardest games ever made in this day and age.
I'd also like to mention a VERY underrated car battling game called Cel Damage. Fantastic physics, and very cartoony Wile E Coyote weaponry made it one of my favorite games. Originally was an Xbox launch title.

Correct me if I am wrong, please. They did keep on making games, and even some big licence games for the GC right up to the Wii launch. Unlike the XBOX and the PS, where all the big name games got put back as soon as the new hardware was released to developers.

Anyone in the UK want a GameCube screen thing? It works pretty well (Slightly light when you set a game to 50HZ) and the Gaming Swap Shop doesn't seem very succesful anymore. Not Wii compatible, which is why I'm trying to get rid of it...

The gameplay was okay-ish, and it had the usual amount of difficulty spikes in areas that shouldn't be hard and dips in places that should, slightly annoying controls, and it just didn't seem as packed as the other 3D sonic games. No matter what you say, you can't deny SA2 as having tons of unlockables.
Basically, it had the okay-ish gameplay of all the other 3D Sonic games without any perks.

Dude, I posted a Gamecube thread a while back. Do you people not know about the search button?
And to all you people saying that Gamecube talk should be put in the Wii thread.. You are fucking stupid.
Would you say that all Playstation talk should be within the same as Playstation 2 because it's backwards compatible? I don't have a Wii, therefore I have no reason to go into the Wii thread. And if I started talking about the Gamecube Resident Evil remake, people will be all like "omg that is not a Wii game, leave now". Wii doesn't have games that can play on Gamecube, so QED.
Anyway. I digress.
