There was a bit of a discussion about this in here (http://forums.weebls-stuff.com/showthread.php?t=69372).

Yeah but if you read the whole thread it pretty much goes into how good they are.

Macs tend to be best for Music, Photo editing etc. etc.

PC's are better for games.

Heheh yeah that was my thread. If you've got a lot of cash and consider yourself an avarage computer user, go for the Mac.

If you want cheaper and don't give a hoot (yes, hoot) about (in my opinion) more pretty interface / easy to use stuff, go for a cheap Dell or something :)

Oh just to keep everybody fighting:

Macs tend to be best for Music, Photo editing etc. etc.: Exact same program, no reason why one would be better than the other except pure performance?

PC's are better for games. True in the sense that a non-Mac PC is usually easier to upgrade and you don't have to use Bootcamp / Parallels or buy special Mac-Game versions.

Woop.

I love the way Macs just work, the interface is always the same throughout all programs (bar a few homebrew things), I love the packaged apps with no folders within folders within folder just for a simple program, I love the fact I have all this ease of use, yet still have more power than on my Windows PC through the terminal.

I bought a Macbook a few weeks ago and the only thing I use my beasty PC for now really is streaming movies to it over Wifi, and playing a few games. I'm still a PC user at heart but I'm a little addicted to the Apple way of life now.

My main issue with apples is the lack of ease for upgrades. I have my current PC for about 4 years, and in that time I have had new mobo, processors, added HDD's, DVD Drives, gfx and sound cards, as well as wifi stuff and stuff.

All of it worked out of the box with minimum effort (except for the first HDD I installed, but that was because I was a retard. Note to self: REMEMBER TO FORMAT DRIVE AFTER INSTALL)

I know that macs are not all intel and so are much more compatible, but they still don't offer the simplicity of upgrade that the average Wintel PC

Folder within folder within folder? I don't particularly unstand that point. You can load stuff from a standard folder inside a windows program without having to scroll through folders. You can save shortcuts to programs you often use in the desktop, there's even a my documents section to access files you just made.

Also, you might be getting more power out of your mac than your windows PC, but you would have paid less money to get the same power out of an equivilent windows PC.
