I'm not normally a boxing fan but this bout has got me excited. I'm looking forward to seeing Hatton smack the smug look off Mayweather's face.

There are some streams to watch it on the net - I'm currently watching some dodgy Chinese feed.

Anyway, it's going to be kicking off soon.

Come on Hitman!

I've done and am doing exactly the same thing - I have a feeling the lag will be at least a minute though so will turn off the radio when the fight starts.

I've poured myself a gin martini - stirred not shaken - with an olive in. If I can't be in Vegas, at least I can have a bit of the glamour at home.

Ooooh Tom Jones...

[edit]Heh - can barely hear the American national anthem over the jeers, boos and whistles of the British fans.

Come on Ricky!

aye looking at a 53 second delay but i think i'll listen and watch something else... contraversial about the martini! has to be shaked! although nice and dry and with a nice plump olive!

aye pretty harsh about the anthem cause even the americans love Tom!

Well, shoot.

Hard to see Ricky go down like that but he was outclassed from about the 5th round. He tried to wind up Mayweather but Floyd stuck to his game and set Hatton against him like a ferocious little ferret. Hatton's aggression left him open to a few choice blows and, in the end, despite being on the ropes for most of the fight, Mayweather took the fight hands down.

Good fight, though.

Fair points from Scram. Mayweather was always going to be dangerous in the later rounds, and even though Hatton gave it his all and worked hard throughout, it was Mayweather who was the quickest and slickest; and managed to keep the strength going throughout. The ref really should have fucked off though, no need to keep on like that.

Good fight, Mayweather very sporting in defeat even though the predominantly british crowd gave him a seriously hard time.

I didn't think of watching a live stream, I ordered it on Sky Box Office and fair play the coverage was superb.

Shoot indeed. I managed to get the HBO stream which was pretty good, and had a Spanish one in the background for when it got jittery. Disappointed to see it end that way, but after about the 9th round Ricky obviously had to get in there as he was losing heavily on points. He gave it a last shot with nothing to lose, but was in no state to realise he was being drawn in for that right hook at the end.

Before the fight people were saying how it was to Mayweather's advantage that the ring was 4ft bigger than Ricky was used to, saying it suited Mayweather's style in that he had more room to back away into, and looking back I suppose they were right.

Even though Ricky lost, I still had a great night watching it, the undercard too :)

edit: I loved it when I could just make out the crowd chanting "The referee's a wanker!"

Watched it in the pub; played some pool, got really really drunk (still am) and watched the match too close up so I had to crane my neck.

It's sad to say, but Hatton was goaded too much. You could see his punches becoming progressively wilder and harder; the frustration was causing him to take bigger and more ill-advised risks, and it resulted in him walking into a lot of punches. A really good match that got a lot of people interested in boxing again (I had no interest in it before this match, as did everyone I knew who attended), but ultimately the better man won. Well done to Hatton though; let's hope it hasbn't disspirited him too much. He's simply one of the best British sportsmen alive today, and he mustn't forget that.

Anyone seen the video of Mayweather in the press conference singing his own name? That just makes me wish he got beat Apollo Creed style in Rocky 4.
