Bit of help please ¬_¬

Well the other day I went into C:\Documents and Settings and I played around with properties of my users documents
like the read-only and hidden boxes cos I wanted to find something.

Lots of things have no fucked up on my comp and I dunno how to fix it.

Like, when MSN opens up it NEVER remembers my email/password whatever, it's just the blank screen so I've ruined something with messenger.

I had a problem with firefox which i've fixed.

But even when i copy/paste stuff to different places it says something about them being "Read-only files"
and so I dunno whats supposed to be read-only or hidden or none...

Is there a way to get the default settings back on this or have I just royally screwed myself over? :-p

You can do a system restore

There might be a directory cleaner available, never had your problem though so I can't think of anything else to add other than that or you could like Insanity said do a system restore.

Short answer: no.

I would say that since it's messed up as it is, it wouldn't do much extra harm to go fiddling again, and you may stumble upon settings that work again.


PS. if you do that, make sure to write down the settings each time. if you do mess it up more, you can go back to one that worked a bit better.
