i thought it was a really good film, the role of dewey was perfect for jack black, and is probably the best performance of his career (in my opinion), i thought it was pretty funny and there were several moments i couldnt help but laugh at, I'd advise any one to see it if they are looking for a funny film.

I thought it would drag on a bit, when i heard about the basic story, but was pleasantly surprised to find this wasn't the case.

I think it's a great film... it's a bit like 'Sister Act'.. only funny. I've seen it a few times now and IMO Jack Black is hilarious as usual, as is Joan Cusack as Miss Mullins. I like the way they cast kids who could actually play the instruments rather than just actors. Go see it!!

edit: and i agree.. Orange County is a brilliant film.. :)

I heard orange county was bad, actually...never saw it myself tho.
Anyway school of rock was really funny...jack black kind of repulses me but he's still really funny.

all the hype about this film made me think it was going to be good, and the fact that jack black was in it made me want to see it even more

i saw it

it sucks

it is just an excuse for jack black to fuck around in a classroom for 2 fucking hours. 2 hours of my life, wasted

I think it ruled. Imo, better than LOTR 3. My friend turned it from a PG into a 12A by, in a quiet part in the middle saying loudly "Dickhead" to one of the parents. We burst out laughing lol, and everyone was looking at us, and the parents were real pissed. The film rules too, with some class music.

IMHO, it is a good film, not a great film though.

Parts were very... VERY, funny, and I was well impressed with the fact that the kids actually seemed to be playing. Though blatently they didn't do ANY of the hard parts!

I thought it was a good film, albeit not something I'd go out of my way for to get it on DVD (possibly wait for it to become cheaper, or even cheaper...). It has it's points as Pigabuff said, parts were very funny, and the general idea of it was good. out of 10 I'd probably say around 6 or 7 (most likely 7).

I really liked Orange County, but I honestly disliked School of Rock. Something about it just irritated me, although I'm not sure what.
