RSV 2 is a sequel to Rainbow Six: Vegas. It fills in the blanks for numerous things in the previous game, and does this very well. Tom Clancy's fictional world in his books have been made into many different games, but my all time favourite is Rainbow Six. My brothers and I would play Rainbow Six Rogue Spear on the PC as if it was the only game in the world, and we loved every minute of it. Ghost Recon? Too techie. Splinter Cell? Why bother with MGS? But Rainbow Six was just you, the ability to see over corners even if his eyes were obstructed, and lots, and lots, of terrorists. Let's begin, shall we?

Story
The story begins five years before the rest of the game. You play as Bishop; a veteran who is an instructor in the organisation's training academy. The role isn't gender specific; you can be a male or female, but I'll get to that later. The first mission walks you through in the way I prefer in FPS. Instead of giving you a training dummy and telling you to shoot it, they give you your team and put you in a low risk, easy situation with button prompts.
There are many great moments throughout the game, which will move you to dispatch terrorists with even more brutal efficency.
A good FPS story, it gets you involved without suffocating you.

Graphics/Presentation
The graphics in RSV are a joy to look at. You can see the the cool determination on your character's face, his swift movements as he comes behind a corner to take a shot, and the mouths move when anybody talks.
There are numerous different environments, from a high up observatory to a casino, to a villa. The limited edition version, which I bought also has a metallic cover, and my friend remarked casually tht it was "sexy" and it made him feel good. :D

Gameplay
Now, comes the best part. The gameplay is stupendous. The game revolves around the cover system. Any wall of object can be used as cover, and certain cover can be shot through, so you have to pick your areas.
Your team are competent. Not once was I blocked by my own man, and as long as you give the right orders, you'll neutralise enemies with ease.
The range of actions is huge; you can rappel, storm a room, flash and clear etc.
Room clearing is a big part of the game. You could position your team at one end of the room at the door, then go to the other and tell them to clear. Once the enemies are distracted, you can come in and massacre them. The feeling of pulling this off perfectly is tremendous.
You have many choices. You could storm in on assualt and kill everybody in a huge bang, or silently score headshots while your team watch your back.
The controls are easy and quick, apart from the only fault I can think of which is that you can't pull out your firearm quicker than you can reload, which, apart from the glorious revolver, a Raging Bull, makes them useless.
Not, mind, that I'm agreeing with others who say it's too slow, in fact it is, but this is good. If you can run out of a clip in your Primary and straight away switch to your Secondary, the game would be in ways unbalanced, apart from this being quite unrealistic.
The level of customisation is massive. When you first enter the game, you are asked to create a character, male or female, and you choose what their weapons, clothes and equipment are. You can get bandanas, hats, and my favourite, the tactical sunglasses. You can also change body armour; sacrificing mobility for protection. The possibilites are endless, and a nice touch is you squad having the same armour as you, making online squads interesting. This game also introduces the A.C.E.S system, which rewards you for fighting like a certain player classes, like Marksman, where you get EXP for
headshots and long ranged kills, Assault, for shooting through cover and using
explosives to kill, and close quarters combat, for short range kills. When getting greater ranks in these, you get new weapons, such as Sniper rifles for
Marksman and Assault rifles for Assualt.
A good RPG system, that doesn't make you go crazy about leveling up, but helps none the less.

Sound
The sounds are well done; not much to say about them though, general FPS affair. The music is atmospheric, rising and falling at appropriate parts.
The voice acting is magnificent. Bishop's voice acter sounds exactly like I would have imagined, and as you progress your teamates will comment on shots you take and things you do. Jung makes me smile whenever you bring him back. "Yes, thank you. Much better now."

Multiplayer
The multiplayer is great as of writing this review, as the servers have been fixed after not working for awhile. The co-op is brilliant if you both have mics and can coordinate your attacks in Realistic difficulty. No lag if you have your router set up, and matches are tense and exciting. No faults here, except for people who level up online in Ambush, which is annoying because they kick you if you steal their kills. :(

RVS 2 is a magnificent masterpiece of a game, and it deserves all the praise it gets, but, even though there is nothing wrong with it, there is not enough things right with it to be perfect.

9.5/10, or for those of you who take that side, ***** 5 stars. ;)

All comments are welcome. I'm really pleased with this review, actually. :)

Needs a spell checker for some parts, just dump is MSword or something. Other than that a good review, you could have mentioned ACES since it's a rather large part of the game a bit more. and btw splinter cell owns.

Crap, I knew I was forgetting something when I was writing the gameplay section.
