COme on the two best rappers in the world, sold the most records. Come oine i want to see your votes. I believe 50 cent is sooo much better than eminem because eminem has not come out with any new cds lately 50 cent has millions. I have to agree that the 8 Milr movies was amazing but thats for other reasons;)
I also think that 50 cent raps a lot better than eminem and that white men (like myself) should not rap.

50 cents hasn't been around for long, won't judge him... I didn't like what I heard
though eminem isn't the best hiphop around (sales don't say much) I like his songs.
probably because i'm not a hiphop fan.
Eminem is lyrically so far above 50cent, tis not even fair to compare the two. But hey, you say white people shouldn't even rap, so that says a lot about your knowledge of music. That people say Eminem is one of the best rappers in the world I can understand.....but 50???? Get out of here.
And go listen to some Mars Ill, Atmosphere, Aesop Rock or J-Zone and you will see there are a lot more great white rappers than you might know of. Or check my band-list in the band-list topic to check out what real hiphop is supposed to sound like.

Eminem wins hands down in my opinion, his lyrics have much more depth and originality than those of 50 cent.
I read an interesting review of one of 50 cent's shows yesterday in the Grauniad, it's here (http://www.guardian.co.uk/arts/reviews/story/0,11712,1050936,00.html) if you're interested.
Eminem is by far the better lyricist.

Nice comparison. I hate rap in general, but I agree that eminem is the one that is MUCH more creative, I can stomach his lyrics because they are at least heartfelt at times, and at others at least honest, sometimes very much so. Eminem is the innovator here, 50 cent is just another face in the crowd.
I have a certain ammount of respect for Eminem, but not because of his "hits". I think its good that he has attracted some youth to rap. He has some interesting rhymes, sadly some of his best work is in freestyles that wont be seen in the charts.
I thought 50 cent - in the club was catchy (omg thx dre) but the rest of the album is pants.

wow, gud question! Well i am a massive eminem fan and would never have even thought of comparing the two a few weeks ago. Because i got 50's album and i have to say it is rather good, it is 2 early to make a fair comparison but his stuff is very good.
eminem on the other hand is amazing, his songs are sometimes very sweet and always filled with emotcion, i can't say the same for 50, but i guess its what u like. and how many times does 50 cent remind us that he is mates with eminem nd dre, that has 2 b half of his fans already. But they both have major talent, Has to be eminem hands down though. And eminem will be mine soon...oh yes he will be mine :p

I dont MIND either of them, but you cant compare them because theyre two completely different styles of rap. It's like comparing the Clash and Anti-Flag. they may both be punk, but of completely different styles.

I agree they are slightly different, a guess because 50 cent is quite new he has quite a standard to live up 2. Although i luv them both i still don;t agree with everything they say, unlike some people, i think its so stupid, how much damage can you do with a lyric???

right lets clear this up! feminem said he is the white 2pac. bollocks. his record sales are so high because us white ppl like the general sound of him. he talks crap its supposed to be hip hop not crap about paedos and lunatic fans. now 50cent lets face it he ain't nuffin special his voice is boring and his lryics about crap in the club and stuff makes him a bubblegum rapper like nelly and p.diddy i.e not a gangsta. when he got shot he was working the underground scene and was a gangsta (he was on the underground for 5 years because no one would sign him) eminem is the only decent white rapper and 50cent has the production genius of Dr dre! thats why there so popular. seriously listen to 2pac or DMX kids

Eminem's later stuff I like because it's more mature and generally has a cool background tune. 50 cent I think is really bad. I don't think he can rap and his lyrics are just more of the whole "I got 12 bitchez and 500 carat gold chains that weigh me down so much I just sit in this same goddam chair all day" And He brags about being shot 7 times. I don't think that's something to brag about.

compared to other forms if music it always sounds like about 98% less effot has been put in, despite how much effort was put in.

there is a glaring difference between rap and rap-core anyways. Rap-core like rage or hed pe is a style of rock (err...nu metal) not related to hip-hop in any way except that rap elements are present.

zach de la rocha has done colaborations with the likes of KRS 1 and DJ Shadow.
he's now making hip hop.
in my eyes he was always an mc.
his passion and conscious lyrics make him a great mc.
I hope he makes more stuff, solo or otherwise, I really look forward to it.
as for eminem vs 50 cent, altho Im not fond of either of them, I choose eminem.
he actualy has emotion within his music, and altho there is this cloud of "omg white rapper :o" around him (there are plenty of white mc's out there that are alot better than him) he does put emotion into his work, even though the production seems very plastic.
I still think that eminem is a gimmic though.
angry white rappy, swears alot, uses controversy to sell records and so on.
50 cent seems to be another "up in this club with mah bitches and alcymahol".
the world doesnt need another jiggy p diddy clone.

well let's not, cause if you think tupac makes emotional hiphop you haven't been listening to the good kind.
Please listen to the new Atmosphere or the latest effort by Soul Position that's being released today. Those are records that really take you by the throat and make you want to listen.

4 all the ppl that just say they hate rap or just eminem or 50 cent..can i ask y do? cos some of u dont give any reasons, i am curious n if ppl gave reasons it may turn into more of a debate. personally i think how eminem puts so much emotcion into his songs is amazing, and rapping to his level is v. hard not sumthing anyone can do.
