hey all dont ya think that the matrix trilogy was awsome my fave would be 1 or 3 the 2nd was so like wow like weve never seen bullet time b4. compared to the others it was nothing also other films are sartin to p!ss me right off using bullet time all the time when we first saw it it was great but now its old. the best charector on all matrix's would have to be either morpheus, neo or seraph.
:rawk:
Bullet time should go down as the most ripped off special effect ever.

Very true, but it also created the original interest into The Matrix. I think without the fancy camera work then the film coulkd have been less famous and less well-recieved. But it is mighty cool especially when you use it yourslef in Enter The Matrix game (Xbox for me) :D:D:D:D:D:D

A similar thing with Jet Li is Romeo Must Die, when he is fighting and breaks a mans arm - the camera zooms in and you see insde the bone actually snap - same goes for later when he kicks someone in the head, you see blood vessels burst on the brain

That might be because Romeo Must Die was produced by Joel Silver who also produced... The Matrix!
But lets face it kids, the Matrix is essentially big budget poop. The plot was obviously made up by a bunch of stoners:
"What if, like, we weren't really here. And like, part of a computer program dude."
"Yeah man, that would be so wierd..."
"Dude, has anyone got any munchies?"
Proof if proof need be that no true great art comes out of drug use.
The only good thing that came out of the whole Matrix franchise was the Animatrix, probably because it wasn't directed by the watchoomacallit brothers and didn't star Keanu Reeves (the most wooden actor since John Holmes)

The third one was bab. The first one was fair. Bullet time was ripped off from a coolio video "C U wen U get there".
Techinically amazing things could be done with bullet time like slow mo zooming over cars and things..

Similar to a film, Three Kings, when someone gets shot, the camera zooms to inside them as the bullet continues on its path...

The budget for the first movie was very low, i cannot remember the exact figures or anything, but the Watchowski(sp?) brothers were hired because of their skills of making lots out of little

From IMDB - Budget $63,000,000
That's still a lot of money. Your average action flick these days is about 30-40 million if memory serves correctly.

They originally wrote "the trail of robot blah blah blah" before the matrix. The original script can be found in the matrix comics...
I seem to think bullet-time started with the video to Smoke City's Underwater Love...
*sings*
"thees must beee undurvaser lurvv..."
...
Thats all i can remember. It was in a levi's advert.

Fraid not old bean, they had only made one film before and refused to let anyone else direct. Fortunately it wasn't a problem because Joel Silver loved Ghost in the Shell when the brothers made him watch it and he thought that their vision matched that of Kenji Kamiyama.
If you haven't seen Ghost in the Shell you should it makes The Matrix look like The Goonies.

Ghost in the Shell is cool. I'm pretty sure they made an Animatrix on as well...
The people who made Vamp Hunter D: Bloodlust made one of them. You know, the white haired girl fighting the Green Ninja?

Errrr yeah
Overall The Animatrix is the pick of the litter - if the whole matrix series had been done as anime it would have been a lot better (although not as commercially viable).
