I can't seem to look at other people's teams in the mini-league. Anyone else?
Otherwise I'd be interested to know who people have got.

Entered as About As Much Chance As England. Name should be self-explanatory:
Keeper: Cech (sub Zuberbuhler)
Defenders: Senderos, Evra, Bosingwa, Mellberg (sub Arbeloa)
Midlfielders: Fabregas, Ronaldo, Ballack, Schweinsteiger (sub Kallstrom)
Strikers: Huntelaar, Torres (sub Vennegoor of Hesselink)
Long names and familiar faces all round! (Villa wanted Bosingwa for those who don't know, never got him though since Porto wanted TWENTY TWO MILLION for him) .

Top of the league \o/ (Then again, had the only two scoring players that anyone here had - Cech 6 points, Senderos 1). Let's see what Ronaldo does now...
EDIT: brilliant article in my local paper:
Eight billion set to tune in
Euro 2008 chiefs are hoping the tournament will bring in a global TV audience in excess of eight billion viewers [in] over 200 countries, while millions of fans are expected to travel from around Europe to watch the games.

Am I the only person to notice that you can change the formation?
MargateMan
07-06-2008, 09:07 PM
Yeah, but I'm a firm believer in the 4-4-2, although I could possibly get more points with more attacking players...
Nuclear Spoon
07-06-2008, 09:48 PM
No, Flava Dave, I'm with 4-3-3.
What do you mean he's suspended? D:

They don't specify that the viewers are all human...

I did but I'm still not sure which to use. Possibly 3-4-3 as each goal costs your defender a point.

Ok so I've chucked out Arshavin and brought in Huntelaar. He better deliver.
Meanwhile I have a huge 2 points. Thank you, Captain Crunch.

Huntelaar's unlikely to start. The Dutch play with one up front usually and it's going to invariably be van Nistelrooy.
I have appointed myself to be your assistant coach.

He will come on and he will get goals.

We don't have automatic subs do we? :(
I had Cech in goal (-1), Zuberbuhler [veteran Swiss keeper, only playing last night cos it was Kuhn's last game] (6) on the bench, and Senderos (5) along with him. And kept Ronaldo in my team, obviously.
Incidentally, the worst team in the world this round has -6 (Turkish keeper Volkan got -3 and two Czech defenders got -1 and -2), and the world's best team is the Dutch starting XI.

Heh.
Last night was a poor night for me seeing as I had a team dominated by Cech in goal and a load of Portuguese outfield players.
Still two points off the top though :D
Let's hope that Germany do well tonight and that Holland don't field a reserve side tomorrow.

Only player I had that took part was Cech like I said, so -1 for me this round. Looks like my entire team could well be Dutch by the end of this; for those who don't know, you get 10 more transfers for the knockout stages so you can afford to go nuts during the last three days of group games. Good point though, if they field reserves I'll be screwed; time to get Huntelaar et al back? :D
And also Scram I replied to your thread on their forum about who's who.

In other news, Michael Ballack, I could kiss you. Top of the league \o/
Big points scorers seem to be attacking midfielders. :D

Hoping the italy france stay 0-0. Could do with some points from Barzagli
actually, get a romanian defender in and a dutch player, that way I'm due some points.
oh man, I took Pirlo out of my team 20 minutes or so before kick off.
when is the transfer deadline per game?
Flava Dave
17-06-2008, 08:57 PM
Gah! I didn't realise you could make transfers every day, I thought the deadline was for every round of matches.
