As we all know now, most games use the WASD configuration to move around. however, on my laptop (Which has vista on it) all those buttons just make the character move to the left. Anyone know what the problem is?

yeah, flash games. anthing else that needs those keys in FLASH too.
Edit: ARGH, now i've got a bigger problem. Now the laptop's keys act like I'm holding down CTRL, whenever I press a key with a ctrl shortcut attached to it, It will just do the shortcut instead. I don't know what started it. (It happened while I was playing dinorun, but even after restarting and doing a system restore, it still is happening, I'm doing a older restore as we speak)
EDIT: Now the laptop's gotten absolutely worse. NO keys are working anymore. I can't tell windows to launch some startup repair thing because enter isn't working. if I try to restart the computer and try to go into setup, the F keys work AT first, but when it goes to the bluish screen, no keys at all are accepted.
This thread needs a title change I think. Laptop stopped working.
Will I have to get this sent away for repairs?

Enter the BIOS settings, and see if the keyboard works OK in there.
If so, it's either a driver or OS problem.
If the keyboard doesn't work in the BIOS, you have a hardware problem.
