Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no thread on this?

Official Site (http://badcompany.ea.com)

First impressions were amazing graphics, although the campaign is getting a bit boring - but that could be because I'm searching every inch of every level for gold crates.

Multiplayer is pretty good, and I actually get (what I think is) full ping sometimes. Although I suspect there is still lag sometimes. I guess I can't blame them for that though.

Hmm. I don't actually have that much to say.

Oh, screenshots don't seem to upload for me, but hopefully that's just because the system hasn't been set up on the site yet.

I was thinking about getting this soon.

Bought this today and it rocks in several shades of enjoyment. It's big and it's daft, and don't let anyone talk to you comparing it with COD4 because they're too damn different. Brilliant fun. Destroying houses with artillery strikes never gets old.

My gripe is that they have some serious online issues to sort out. Awards, particularly wildcards, don't unlock and it's not just me who's having screenshot problems. People in the US with awesome connections get the upload failed message, and I've discovered that my pictures do upload to the site - I just get an upload failed message anyway.

I've been playing the demo and it seems alright, but i doubt i'll get it
My favourite part is how you can blast through virtually any wall, it appeals to my laziness

I played the demo it was good but still played the demo to death and got bored.

It was good just I never had any money at the time it came out and now I can't be arsed to play it.

I like to play it when extremely drunk,

it's also fun to find a nemesis and get his tags.

So, is the general opinion that this game is worth getting? I saw it in town today but didn't have enough cash, otherwise I'd have probably bought it.

Just downloaded the demo of this on my 360.
EVERYTHING BLOWS UP!!!!
That's where it's better then COD4 - where nothing blows up. Ever.

Yeah, buy it, it's awesome! Also get it online, it'll probably be cheap, maybe.

I think I will get it.

You make a good point about the online buying. Although from play.com and hmv.com it's more expensive than in Woolies. Only a quid, mind. eBay isn't really much cheaper, either.

Scrap that then. I'll buy it from a shop.

EDIT: So I bought it from a little games shop for £37.99. It's quite cool, and as Giant_Crab said before, vastly different from CoD4. Blowing holes in buildings is lots of fun! :D

I've only played the first mission and about 3/4 of the second, and am still finding the controls a little bit fiddly, but so far I'm liking this game. The best thing I've done so far is evading tank fire by criss-crossing between buildings and when it thought I was in one, I was actually in another and I inconspicuously planted a C4 on the bastard. Boom-juice.

Haven't tried it online yet, might try it tomorrow.

EDIT 2: I've gotten further in the singleplayer, and just a while ago tried it online. I've gotten used to the controls now, and it has to be said that flying a helicopter around shooting the crap out of everything is mucho fun.

Online is quite good, only played a couple of matches though. At the moment it feels like a first-person version of Warhawk, what with the objective based gameplay and vehicles. Which is no bad thing.

'tis a fun game. :)

I am outraged.

The update that came with Conquest fixed nothing. Still photo upload issues, wildcards that don't work and incorrect descriptions for awards.

How the fuck can they suck that much.

I'm sorry all I've done is complain about this game, because it's great fun. But it pisses me off that there are major bugs that haven't even been acknowledged, especially when they stop you from getting achievements.

Before anyone starts telling me I shouldn't care so much about gamerscore, it's not about that. It's just that achievements are a measure of how thoroughly a game has been completed and I like my games done 100% complete.

I'm too lazy for achievement points. Unless they involve blowing things up or killing 150 guys. Also, hooray for conquest!

Yeah, I think I prefer conquest to gold rush.

Im actually pretty good online, I got gold edition so I got extra weapons. Got the number one spot in a gzame on the first day of playing online.

I'm more or less the same kind of skill level as I am on most games, normally in the top four or five in a game. I'd probably be better if I spent less time destroying buildings and fucking around in the artillery.
