Don't know if ye lot have heard of this, but it's basically a NES emulator built into firefox.

http://firenes.en.softonic.com/

You download that, reset firefox and you have your NES emulator with all the games built in. I've been addicted to battletoads ever since :D

If you haven't seen it I hope you enjoy :D

Despite my fear of sounding noob-ish, I'm gonna have to ask: how do I go and play the emulator after I have (apparently) downloaded the emulator offa the site up there?

And also: post 500!

In FireFox3, go into the Tools menu and you should find FireNES there.

I see it. Now how do I play it? I don't see any "execute" options, just the "adjust stuff" "home page" and "uninstall".

Anytime I click it a list of games pops up on the left side of the FF window, then I just double click and play. I dunno what you have going there.

I can double click on a game and see the window pop up, but nothing ever seems to load. Are the servers just really slow or something?

Everything loads off of http://VirtualNES.com which is basically the same thing except you have to run all the games off the website. Some of their emulators are broken at the moment but they usually get around to fixing them promptly.

Also, yeah this MIGHT be illegal if VNES didn't actually own (most of) the games. Since you're proxying the games from them it's essentially borrowing their services, so if anyone got in trouble it'd probably be the owners of VNES.

yeah i just get a black screen

googled around and it's apparently something to do with the version of java you're using, but i cba to sort it out, i'd rather just use a regular emulator

Ain't emulators illegal?
no

the actual roms are illegal if you don't own an original copy of the game though

Define this "sunlight" that you speak of. It seems like such a foreign concept.

All this does is open up a VirtualNes (http://www.virtualnes.com/) game in a popup.

anyone understand what the hell warios woods is about?

Toph

Warios Woods is a puzzle game, isn't it? From what I remember, you have to clear the different colours with the same coloured bombs. Toad can run up the wall to collect the bombs, and I think pressing down moves them down quicker, like Tetris.
Once you clear a level, you move onto another tree.
That's what I remember anyway. It's been ages since I played it.

Yes, that's Wario's Woods, if my memory serves me right.

Also : this plugin is awesome.

Anyone have any legal SNES emulators they know of? I've tried downloading a few, but all I get is a menu screen that looks for the games already on my comp instead of the games it may or may not have.
