just noticed that there's not a buffy thread yet (i know there's an angel one) so i thought i'd step in and create one.
Just want to know your general feelings for the show. who you liked, why? fav episodes? worst bits?
I'd also like to know if you've met any of the cast.
Guess i should start off.
I love the show. I've been an avid follower since mid season 2, and so far i've met mercedes mcnab (harmony) and amber benson(tara).I'll post the proof when i get my camera back
Fav episode would have to be either hush or restless, although i prefer season 3. i have 1-3 on dvd.
Do any of you have the albums, the bands on them are great. especially four star mary k's choice and sarah mclaughlin.
so go ahead and tell me what you think.

I thought it was good...though to be honest I drifted in and out of watching it on a regular basis.
Probably my favourite aspect of the show was the fact that the scripts were not only funny but intelligent, i.e. things were left to run for episodes before being resolved (Tara possibly being a demon springs to mind).
The ending wasn't as dramatic or exciting as I thought it'd be but I still think the last series on a whole was very good (although I do think that it's the only series that I've actually seen every episode)
The best character was Spike...and the actor that played him (can't be bothered to google for his name) actually sounded quite British in later series, which is amazingly rare for an American show. (Andrew comes a very close second)

i used to watch it everyday after school but its become so overdramatic buffy is eathier sad or wanting to use spike now ~sigh~
and it seems as though the plot got weaker, she ran out of problems, villans, ect. i mean, the girl has died, what, three times?
angel is much better in my opnion, but i must give buffy credit for starting it all.

love buffy, but think angels better. Fave eps are probably either the Becoming two-parter, Hush or Superstar. Jonathan is hilairious

Yeah, there are some damn funny scenes in that show.
I like the one which focused around Jonathan in the First evil saga.
Hey, go back. What, to this? *Three nerds in his mind are dancing like roman gods, singing "We are Gods, we are Gods"*
And when Spike and John are riding on the bike.
You know, when they talk about lollipopss and flower shaped food.
Funny stuff.

I'm not an avid "watcher" but i do enjoy the odd episode. My favourite being the one where willow cast the "forget" spell. Worth it if only for the Giles/Spike Father/Son gag.
However the question remains. Did Buffy jump the shark? And when? Cause there are two things that bug me about this show.
1) All of a sudden Buffy has a kid sister that appears from nowhere. Now I didn't watch the first episode that she appeared in, and I'm sure they come up with a perfectly logical arrangement. But it does stink of "I've run out of idea's, lets see if we can make up a new character and squeeze them in somehow...."
2) The musical episode. It was fun, but I have a quote kicking around somewhere of Josh Wheadon saying "When will I do the musical episode? When I've run out of other ideas" Well he did it and then carried on with another couple of series. hmm?
So did Buffy jump the shark? and when?

Buffy's sister wasn't a real person....she is/was 'the key' made into human form and everyone was given fake memories...I think that they were utilising the benefits of a new character while taking the piss too.

MY favourite one is when the geek one ( Andrew or Jonathan) has a jet pack but when they fly off they bump their heads and fall back down. Hahaha.

my favorate episode was the musical
twas funny to see giles(the epitimy of a british snob-no ofence) suddenly become a country twang singer
even the mutant enemy guy was singing his "grr...arrg" at the end

this is probably the only series i have ever watched from beginning to end. i got to see the last season early because i was living in the states when it was on. r0x0r!
i think Buffy jumped the shark when she left school and became a prissy little bitch. the whole Dawn thing never made any sense either - it was like they couldn't be arsed to develop her character. the regular supporting ast was probably the reason i continued to watch - Willow, Giles, Spike, Dru etc. the baddies were the best characters and had the best lines.
the Willow stuff was always good - the vampire Willo episode, the lesbian relationships, and the good witch/ bad witch stuff.
despite its errors, i think it's a classic.

I think that was pretty much everyone's oppinion during the first part of the series... then, just as you're starting to get used to the idea, Joss turns it on its head by giving it all a logical explanation, and making you realise that it was actually an intentional stroke of genius.
Well, that's what I thought anyway...

eek...the gentlemen were probably the scariest thing ever on buffy, well them & the talking ventriloquist's dummy.
i think buffys the only show ive seen every single episode of. my favourite one is probably the one where everyone turns into their costumes on halloween & spike is most certainly my favourite character & i think he would be even if he wasnt so damned pretty. hes very well written. of course giles comes a very close second. buffy definitely went downhill when he started to only make guest appearances.
hopefully one day ill own all the series...thatll be the day
