(Part of the information below is taken from here (http://forums.weebls-stuff.com/showpost.php?p=1945053&postcount=1).)

Please read this post toroughly, even if you are a common player! New roles have been added!

1. Introduction

In a kingdom far far away, there lived a king and queen. Their civillians were terrified because of recent wolf attacks. The king decided to ring up some old friends to try and get rid of the wolves. Some because of their special powers, others because they had had experiences with wolves in the past.

2. The roles

Narrator (1)
That's me. I write a message everytime a kill has taken place. This will be once every 48 hours. I cannot die and I cannot kill or vote.

Wolf (4)
As a wolf, you will receive a pm telling you who your fellow wolves are. You are, however, not allowed to communicate about the game outside this topic.
While it may be fun to watch the townspeople fight amongst themselves, be careful: you could be lynched! What’s more, you have to somehow let your fellow werewolves know who you want to feast on that night - without giving the game away, all in the same discussion as the rest of the town folk.

Wolf with Granny's clothes (1)
The same as the wolf, except for two little details:
This clever wolf stole Granny's clothes. This way, not even the fortune tellers can see that this person is actually a wolf.
This wolf can also cast one false vote. To do this, post a false vote in the topic, but pm me your true vote. This might seem like a really convenient extra, but beware; cunning players might notice. Don't forget you can only use this power once!

Fortune teller (3)
Like the other townsfolk they too want rid of the werewolves, but they have the ability to discover the real identity of any person! At Night, the fortune teller may PM the Narrator and ask the identity of one player.
However, it will show the wolf wearing Granny's clothes as a civillian!

Witch (1)
The witch has two potions. One is a healing potion, the other is deadly poison. Both can only be used once.
The healing potion resurrects a person attacked by wolves. The poison will kill a player.
To use the potions, pm me which one you want to use on whom. You are allowed to use them both at once, but you may also chose to use them one by one. The healing potion is only effective max 48 hours after death. A witch can use the healing potion on him/herself

Malificent (1)
This fairy used to be able to make an entire family and staff sleep for one hundred years, but now she's too old for that. She has enough power to make the wolves sleep for one night, to make sure they can't hurt anyone.

Fairy Godmother (1)
The fairy godmother can protect one person each night. However, when she saves a person, this player is put to sleep and won't be able to vote the next day.

Little Red Riding Hood
Has a basket full of food.
She may throw her basket away to save herself from the hungry wolves (once).
This means the first wolf attack aimed at her will not harm her. The wolves feed on the meat in her basket instead. After throwing her basket away, she's a normal civillian.

Hunter (1)
When the hunter dies, he can quickly shoot and kill someone right before he kicks the bucket.
He does this by pm'ing me the name of who he wants to shoot within 48 hours. This means that the shot person won't instantly pass away, but will die of shotwounds later. This can be either at night or during the next day, depending on when I receive the pm.

Civillian (6)
Six clever and brave civillians have offered their help to the king to make this town wolf-free. They will have to use their brains to figure out who are the innocents, and who are the wolves.

4. Gameplay

Day and night each take 24 hours.

Day
When the sun is up in the sky in the kingdom of Far Far Away, people accuse, gossip, namedrop and vote.
To vote, put the name of the one you want to vote on in bold. If your vote is not in bold, it doesn't count. If you put any name in bold, it counts as a vote.
You're allowed two abstains, also to be put in bold.

If you refuse or forget to vote twice, your soul will be sold to the first person who asks for it.

As the kingdom is democratic, the citizens will have to agree with each other. Only a majority of votes for one person leads to a lynching.

Night
At night, the wolves strike. They have to each choose a target (pm me who they want to kill) and will only succeed if the majority of the wolves target the same person.
Fortune tellers also pm me during the night.

Communication about the game outside this topic is strictly forbidden!

If there is anything you don't understand, pm me about it and I will do my best to help.

Day 1 will start sunday 14 September.

It does look cool, wondering though how the Day/Night cycle will work. I had that method in the first game but didn't think it worked too well, hence the switch to 48 hour Days and no Nights. Guess we'll see. :)

I only voted for someone so as not to waste an abstain, and only dr fruitbat because he voted for crab and I want to even the score out a bit.

N.B: I'm glad to see the original 'wolf format' return to this game. For too long in previous games have people referred to pirates or gangs as wolves.

harryashfield
14-09-2008, 06:13 PM
Woah woah woah! Dr Fruitbat suddenly has more votes? I didn't mean to start a bandwagon.

Hence I am changing my vote to argh because of the following...

When I originally voted Dr Fruitbat, I only did it to save my abstain.... but then he said abstain for now, but if bad things happen to Fruity tonight..... The wolves would have lept at the opportunity to blame someone else for the death of Dr Fruitbat... i.e blame me.

argh
14-09-2008, 06:23 PM
Then she said.

I only said you because I missed when Fruitbat said Crab, I may change my mind about you now that I saw he jumped on someone random first.

I'm happy with that, rather than the werewolves kill everyone off without leaving any evidence as to who they are.

But if they're allowed to communicate, it allows for a lot more psychoanalysis etc. At the moment all we're doing is waiting for someone to namedrop.

PinkFish
14-09-2008, 06:40 PM
Hmm, a little nervous as this is my first game, so I shall abstain as that seems the most sensible option.

Nah, because if everyone abtains they'll have no clue as to who to kill.

But they'll still have to choose someone.

malcolio
14-09-2008, 10:40 PM
But they'll still have to choose someone.Yes, but the werewolves can only communicate in this thread in front of everyone else, so if they can't do that without it being obvious what they're doing they won't know who each other votes for, so they won't be able to kill! See the last few games, the abstain tactic has worked before and it will work again. :eng101:

doctor_fruitbat
15-09-2008, 12:24 AM
A few names have been dropped by this point already, I'm afraid. :p Let's see what happens when the day ends.

Smowy
15-09-2008, 03:15 PM
Agreein with mal, unless the werewolves get lucky they'll get no kill, and it's likely they'll try and make a move sooner or later so I think it's best to wait it out and let them reveal themselves.

doctor_fruitbat
15-09-2008, 03:49 PM
The abstain game is pretty easily negated; the wolves simply don't accuse anyone in the thread, wait until the abstains are gone and the game effectively restarts except no-one has any abstains left. People can be investigated in that time, but it's only a small boost, arguably cancelled out by the lack of abstains, forcing people to vote when they don't want to and further confusing issues when it comes to accusations.

Zhyl
15-09-2008, 03:57 PM
Abstain.

Syl

Remember, if you 'forget' to vote twice, your role will be given to someone else!

Small Fry
15-09-2008, 05:58 PM

Syl
15-09-2008, 06:07 PM

nub
Vercci
Cpt Killeman

woodchip50, for this time I'll count your post as a vote, but next time when any vote isn't in bold it counts as a non-vote and you might lose your role.

Day 1
Several people were accused of being a wolf today, but most of the townspeople decided there wasn't enough evidence to bring someone to death so soon. Eleven people abstained, five voted.
Nobody died today.

The sun is down, it's getting dark outside. The night has begun.

The night went by rather silently. Fortune tellers secretly layed out some cards, the Fairy Godmother hovered over crab's house, wolfs went outside for a snack. However, the wolves didn't work together as a pack, so they didn't manage to kill anyone.

-The wolfs didn't kill anyone
-The Fairy Godmother protected crab

The morning arrived, the village awoke.
Even though nobody died, the debate house is now opened. Please cast your vote and give your arguments before 17 September, 7pm

The townspeople gathered in the debate house. Most still didn't want to point their finger, others got desperate and shouted a name with the most ridiculous arguments.
Still, they didn't convince each other into anyones guilt, so nobody got lynched today.

However, not everyone appeared at the debate house. The following players were missing:

- tehmoogles
- nub (reclaimed his role)
- crab
- Cpt Killeman (again)
- woodchip50

Cpt Killeman must have moved to another town, so his house was put up for auction.

The debate house closed, the sun went down and the people went to sleep.

Since it seems a very difficult task for most of you to get online every day, the earth has decided to turn a bit slower.

From now on, every day and night will each last 48 hours.

malcolio
18-09-2008, 05:41 PM
I suppose you wouldn't want to switch back to having day and night activities take place in just one 48 hour cycle, as games before have? Just although people do need more time to play, it means that for half the game only 14 out of 20 players can do anything, and even then those 14 just send a private message once. The way you have it now the game drags on without anything happening for quite a lot of the time IMO.

Syl
18-09-2008, 05:51 PM
You are allowed to talk and discuss things at night, you just can't vote. Even at night you can have hunches, the fortune tellers can spread their findings and wolves can try and get people on the wrong track.

Seperating the voting from the night activities give certain advantages, both for me, the fortune tellers and the wolves.
-The fortune tellers get their requested identity information before the voting starts
-I don't have to hurry giving the fortune tellers the information asap, which is good, since I have to go to school.
-The wolves can wait with voting until after the lynching. This prevents voting for someone who dies of lynching anyway, and it gives them the oppurtunity to namedrop all day, so not only the names mentioned in the first few posts of the day matter.

tehmoogles
18-09-2008, 06:30 PM

malcolio
18-09-2008, 06:32 PM
You make good points, especially the last one (although even if the werewolves do have the whole day to decide on who to kill, the longer the day goes on the more confusing namedrops become, from what I've seen), and when I ran my games I was unemployed at the time, so I had the free time to spare. Personally I'm not sure if the negatives outweigh the positives, but I'll guess we'll see. :)

EDIT: tehmoogles, it's night still. ;)

Syl

The long night passed by and everyone woke up very cheerful that morning. However, the atmosphere quickly changed when they walked outside and found the remains of doctor_fruitbat. The poor civillian had been ripped to pieces, his guts were eaten and his limps were spread all over the place.

The Fairy Godmother didn't expect this, she had been watching over Vercci all night.

Who is responsible for this bloody mess?

Day 3 has begun!
Cast your vote or abstain before September 21th, 7pm

Minutes later, a new face turned up in town. Turkey Sandwich moved into Cpt. Killeman's old house, taking over his role in our adventure.

Roxit
19-09-2008, 06:24 PM
Bother. I'm guessing half the wolves voted fruitbat in night 1. His name was mentioned a fair few times. Then in night 2 all the wolves pulled togather to vote the same way.

quick read through and the contenders I believe are harryashfield, argh and flickynumbers. I think i'm going to go with argh, it was an obvious name drop and I don't like the excuse. I too also mentioned fruitbats name, but along with several others, taking a page out of mal's book.

God damn it! I'm really bad at these games, Now heed my advice. The reason I voted for argh, was because he abstained, then said:
but if bad things happen to Fruity tonight.....

He wanted to start a bandwagon against me if Dr_fruitbat died... I only voted Dr_fruitbat to save an abstain.

Now, why would he try to blam e me for the death of someone, that then got killed by wolves?
Why would he try to start a bandwagon against the innocent?

Maybe because he is a wolf, and all those that are now jumping on the bandwagon are also wolves. SO anyone that has voted for me is almost certainly a wolf, and I advise them to quickly change thy're votes and hope nobody notices.

To all those who havn't voted, heed this warning. Vote for Argh, because he is almost certainly a wolf. Also, take notice of who has already voted for me... I'll list them here:

Those are your wolves. Get to it.

Listen, I'll come clean. I'm Not a civilian. I'm Malificent. And I fully understand that saying this is wolf-bait suicide, but I'd rather not be lynched. As I will probably die tonight regardless, remember what I have said. I've listed the wolves for you. Now get rid of them one by one.

Small Fry

That is utter rubbish. We have voted for you because somehow, saying Doctor Fruitbat's name over and over again might alert the wolves that he is the victim. Him dying was almost proof of your guilt. Argh made a lucky guess early on, so now you want him dead. And saying you're a Malificent is an obvious trick - no-one wants to kill them, so you think you're safe.

Also, even if you are a Malificent, saying everyone who votes for you is a wolf is a bit harsh. You do look damn guilty after all.

malcolio
20-09-2008, 10:48 AM
I don't know, that post has changed my mind. I think it's quite easy to mention a player's name a lot of times if you keep having to defend an innocent choice. He wasn't the only one who mentioned doctor_fruitbat's name, after all. I think you're wrong on your list of wolf-suspects, just because people join a band-wagon doesn't mean they're all instantly guity! :p

I'm back to voting for good old malcolio, and unless someone else claims they're the Malificent I don't think we should lynch anyone.

You only mentioned Doctor_Fruitbat's name once? That's laughable. I think you've mentioned his name the most this game, which is why I'm voting for you.

EDIT: Also, no-one else sane is going to admit to being a Malificent, that'd be like signing your own death wish. Keep quiet, dont do harryashfield the satisfaction of being able to take a Malificent with him.

I'm Malificent. And I fully understand that saying this is wolf-bait suicide, but I'd rather not be lynched. As I will probably die tonight regardless.

There's only one by the way. The reason I admitted it is because I think I hve accepted the wolves (you) have started a good enough bandwagon to get me lynched. BUT I take great satisfaction in your little melodramatic performance thet will get you lynched tomorrow.

EDIT: Oh, and I think if you check my previous posts, I voted for the doctor once to save an abstain, and then after someone else voted for him I changed my vote.
Do yourself a favour and stop getting frustrated, your sordid ramblings will only lead to your death.

After reading through, it seems to me that there are two very suspect people around here, but they're strongly against each other - which leads me to believe that one of them is definitely a wolf, but not both.

All the arguing above is rather eyebrow-raising, especially the emphatic accusations against various people just because they voted the same way. I don't think that four votes constitute bandwagoning either.
However, what's more suspicious is the way that, earlier on, argh namedropped doctor_fruitbat and then tried to make out that if anything happened that night, it would be someone else's fault, which is very convenient.

So yeah.

Ok, there's an easy way harryashfield can prove his innocence, as long as people don't lynch him today.

He claims he is a Malificent, so if this night he uses his special power and makes the werewolves go to sleep it will prove who he says he is. If he isn't the real Malificent, can the person who has that special role not use their power tonight. Obviously this would be a bit quicker if the real Malificent could just reveal themselves now, but whatever!

So, if harryashfield agrees to it then everyone should let him live one more night and we'll have enough proof. If the werewolves strike tonight even with harryashfield claiming to have used his power (and I won't accept 'I was offline for 48 hours, but I really wanted to!') then we'll have all the proof we'll need. :)

Btw, this relies on Syl narrating that the Malificent has used their power, can I just check that this is true? (Judging how you've narrated so far I'm presuming you will.)

Harryashfield for me. You can't namedrop someone blatantly then say it was just to not waste an abstain and then accuse everyone who votes for you of being a wolf. That's far too suspicious. Crab and woodchip50 quietly left town, possibly frightened by the dangerous situation.

However, the day didn't go by quietly. The debates hadn't been as heated as they were today. Harryashfield was driven in a corner by the mob. Suddenly, he decided to stand up and defend himself; he gave an angry speech and many saw this as a reason to change their votes.
In this turmoil, everyone accused everyone, some even themselves. In the end, Argh got the most votes, but it was only four out of fifteen!
Nobody got executed and everyone went home, tired and confused.

Anyway, I have no problem with prolonging the abstain game. Time is a problem the werewolves have, not the civilians. The longer the game the more time the remaining fortune teller has of finding the werewolves.

The person being voted for today explained their apparent dodgy action the post after said dodginess, it's a reasonable mistake to make and I don't think it's enough for a lynching, especially after the last day when a lot of people were dead-set against someone and yet they turned out to be innocent.

argh's a girl? Wow, I can't keep track. It's because I'm on two forums which don't display gender - I can't remember everyone...

Damn, I'm really bad at gender guessing. Maybe that's why I can't get a girlfriend :(.

I'm not trying to hurt the civillians chances, I sincerily believe in the list I made. And Smowy, I didn't accuse you of your reactions regarding being accused... I said you were acting suspicious. Which is slightly backed up by what you just said...

Maybe he just doesn't like you. There isn't any point in the two of you fighting anyway as it's obvious harry's Malificent.

harryashfield
25-09-2008, 07:24 PM
It's just that you havn't really been posting much, and then you only stand up to defend yourself when accused. I just thought that being too quiet was a tad suspicious, but whatever - there aren't enough votes for anyone to die.

Nine people ( out of sixteen remaining) have voted today. Nobody got the majority of five.

Come on people, I can't throw out everyone for not voting.

You don't need to guess when you have been told several times that argh is female in this thread. Seriously I don't know why it is annoying me so much but please read posts more carefully.

Heat of the moment. Besides, that comment has just made Flicky's sig 10000% more interesting.

Harryashfield because of the the guy/girl thing. I pointed it out at least once, and I'm pretty sure you quoted the post I made where I changed your he to she.

I thought it was still day. Syls posts are ususally bigger than that.

It would also be petty of me, not petit, petit is small in french.

You can't vote at night...

That's just petty. I'm sorry I made the mistake again, but there's no need to mess up this game over it.

Sorry I didn't vote. Kind of caught up with school work and pantomimes. Plus there is UCAS residue everywhere.

I will vote today, though.

Did I vote? I can't keep track. I think I did. I also think I need to address Harry's repeated accusations of me in a way he can't call too calm.

FFS HARRY WE ALL KNOW YOU'RE A MALIFICENT THE GODMOTHER'S NOT GONNA PROTECT YOU BECAUSE NOW YOU'RE JUST A NORMAL CIVILIAN. I AM NOT A WOLF AND I AM ACTING CALMLY BECAUSE THERE IS NO POINT GETTING IN A RAGE ABOUT ONE PERSON HAVING A GRUDGE AGAINST ME AS I VOTED FOR THEM IN, LETS FACE IT, SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES.
There we are. Taking a leaf out of someone's book here :p

Yeah, but you keep going on about how suspicious he is.

harryashfield
26-09-2008, 08:34 PM
Ah. And there I was thinking that in this game you had to justify your accusation of someone if you wanted to make your vote seem valid.

I think he must be a wolf :p

argh
27-09-2008, 01:06 PM
Definately. You can tell he's a liar because he said he was Malficient this time, but now he says he's a civilian.

Smells like teen wolf spirit.

(Because harry seems bad a t taking jokes a lot, this is a joke)

harryashfield

Woof! Put the claws away darling, people may think you're a wolf.

flicky1991, argh is joking. Seems like you're trying the divide and conquer technique.

I'd follow Shalashaska's advise harry, although he could have put it better. :p The more you talk the more your name crops up, so the more likely you'll be targeted. You need to learn from the other times you've been knocked out of a game!

And argh was joking flicky1991, you must know this? And although you brushed off tehmoogle's point with a joke, he's right, you do seem suspicious making an obvious attack on argh for little cause.

Anyway, I'll be voting for malcolio as although some people are acting a bit shifty that's not enough evidence to make me vote for them, for now... (And I thought I'd mention loads of names in this post rather than none, as I couldn't work out how to say what I'd like without confusing everyone!)

Smowy
27-09-2008, 08:06 PM
Gonne vote for Smowy since I don't think harry's very dangerous at the moment and have no reason to believe anyone else is.

I'm going with flicky1991 you can't pretend you didn't see it was a joke, I said it was a joke, I was just adding onto a joke HGL made.

However this is just crap. I was a wolf last turn and I tried to make jokes to disguise the fact I was pointing the finger at someone. So I'm calling bullshit and still have my eye on you argh. I'm also thinking of maybe someone else is a wolf right now, hmmm

Small Fry
28-09-2008, 01:35 PM
Roxit, are you trying to say you'll vote for anyone who makes jokes? Jeez, lighten up.

I suspect it's humour most of the time

Roxit
28-09-2008, 01:54 PM
No I'm not, but I'm saying a joke is a good way to point a finger when there is little else to go on. But thinking about it, a wolf wouldn't bother going for flicky, best trying to get them lynched.

My reasons, Mr Simpson, are my own.

28-09-2008, 05:28 PM
I'm not so sure flicky is a wolf, it seems like there's been bandwagoning going on here, which is normally a sign of wolves trying to get someone innocent lynched, especially since there's no real evidence. I'm going to vote for happy-go-lucky.

Or not.

Ditto, changing to flicky1991. An obvious attempt to put blame on another player and he doesn't even try to say otherwise.

Syl
28-09-2008, 06:13 PM
You know, at first I found it a very original idea to vote for yourself.
Now, it became a common way of getting extra abstains. I'm not happy about this. Please don't vote for yourself anymore.

Players who are out of abstains:
Urlosenged
malcolio
happy-go-lucky
Shalashaska
Pinkfish
argh
Small Fry

These players will have to vote for someone. The rest still has one or more abstain.

Smowy

I guess I'll vote for flicky1991 then, seeing as so far as I can tell he'll get lynched either way.

28-09-2008, 08:55 PM
Then what do you think my last post was?

Seriously, the real reason I voted for argh was because I had no clue who to vote for. Also, not having read the thread properly, I didn't know her post was a joke. To clarify: I wasn't trying to pin the blame on argh. Hope this clears matters up.

EDIT: I didn't notice page 17. I forgot I still had an abstain
