Did anyone else watch this? I thought it was possibly the best satirical sketch show I'd seen, closely followed by little britain.

Basically there's a bunch of recurring characters (and a few random ones thrown in) who have there own hooks, like the insane Ivan Dobsky, who is stuck in the 70s, and prison. Or Liar CLive Pringle, who is always late home. It wasn't very popular so they only showed it on BBC 3 as far as I know, but it is fecking hilarious.

"Clive, I'm meeting my Friend Janice in 5 minutes, so we'll get straight to the point. Excuse"
"Got lost on the common"
"theme"
"Scott's polar expedition"
"Reality"
"I was being tag fucked in the men's loos"

I have watched it a few times and I know that Che is a bit of a fan but I'm not overly impressed. If you like that kind of comedy (god help you) then you would be better off watching Chris Morris' Jam.

It's actually "Mr Hoppy went into the incinerator 10 years ago Ivan. Remember what Mrs Jones, the psychiatrist, said? You're a fucking nutcase Ivan"

I thought Monkey Dust was bloody brilliant! The number of times it made me laugh was uncountable. I liked all the characters, especially Ivan the Meat Safe murderer and his space hopper,

"I only said I dun it so they'd take me willy from out the plug socket."

I watched it once and I didn't like it. A bit with a stalker was when I decided I really didn't like it.

a lot of it was just bizarre, and somewhat worrying.

Brian Blessed on the other hand, was hilarious.

"Hello! I'm Brian Blessed!"

They got rid of a lot of the good stuff and then went for the shock factor, Yay for the first series, boo for teh later stuff.

Great Satire mostly though.

yes i did like what little i've seen of it.

it wasn't the comedy that drew me to it, but rather the tension between the parts where you want to laugh, the parts where you want to cry, and the parts where you want to scream with anger at the ills of society.

in parts it made me think of a very very dark animated 'Brass Eye' - not poking fun at victims of abuse or crime, but rather the way society and the media perpetuate the fear of modern life.

anyway, i've got a feeling i'm getting too deep, so i'll just say - yeah, it's good stuff.

Exactly what I like about it. A perfect example is the "divorced dad" sketch, with his son timmy. He always ends up killing himself because his son is so mean to him, because of what his mother has told the son to say. And just as he dies, you see the son apologise to his dad and say how much he loves him and it just makes you feel so awful...and yet it's hilarious. It's something to do with poking at human nature and showing you how terrible it is,but without depressing you I think.

I really like the program, although towards the end of the second series it did get stupidly repetetive. A lot of the more disturbing bits do seem to say something about society. Like the dad drinking bleach when the son's going to leave and the 2 internet peodofiles thinking each other were small kids and meeting up.
