I had one.

I did kill it eventually. But the final straw involved two
other, much larger cars which I got sandwiched between. That did it.

But for the 2 years before that I kicked the crap out of the damn thing and it always still ran.

Seeing as I can't drive yet, this is not legally my car, but rather my mom's. However, I did all the research, I read all the manuals, I know how to work it, and we call it my car. It's a 2001 Volvo V70 and I love it.

This is my truck, a '90 Mistubishi...Mighty Max. Yah, I know.

It's light for a truck, and has a sophisticated suspention, with anti-sway bars, front and rear, but its not very powerful, although it does pull harder the higher your revs go, and it lacks a limited-slip. Its clutch is almost gone and its tranny is going, andits stearing knuckles are loose and a bit dodgy. About the only thing I like about it is that it at least has Rear-wheel drive, so its it fun to get sideways.

In this picture you can see the abuse my passenger side has seen. The big bash near the front was from a deer, offing itsself against my truck. The dent in the dodr behind that is from my 'tard sister kicking it in while trying to close the door with her boot. The dent just behind the door is from my dad backing his truck into it. The wires dangling from beneath the grill are all thats left of my Axuiliry lamps, which were sheared of by yet anouther deer.

Yet, ugly as it is, it always runs. Always start. That engine is hardcore.

My car, I know it's a smart and people say it's a girls car but I like it. Not many of them about, cheap road tax and insurance (just as well as I'm starting my insurance off again after no car for a few years!) and with a 700cc turbo engine light on fuel and screams round the streets like a madman:cool:

I've driven one of those smart cars, the company has a few and one day it was the only one available when I needed to go out. :rolleyes:

Personally I didn't like it much because it had semi automatic gears and I much prefer manual gears.

And it wasn't very quick. (I'm used to BMW's!)

But they are a dream to park! And the fuel economy on them is excellent.

Storage isn't that great -- it's pretty tough to get a month's shopping in the boot!

Good for some people, abysmal for others. Either love it or hate it. Etc.

Actualy, thats perfectly normal. No reason to have more then on basic type of four-banger. The Escort and Focus share engines like many oither cars, and in WRC, you need to use an engine that came stock.
