[OK guys this is something I just though up about 10 mins ago, feel free to point out any discrepancies you spot.]
Rules of engagement are as follows:
- You have all awoken in a large area of countryside, next to a very large watch tower. You cannot get into, damage, or scale the tower. The tower has many foxholes so tough luck if you were planning to hug the walls. To discern itself at night the walls emit a very faint red light, whilst the tower has slightly brighter red lights near the base.
- There are fields with long grass, some rocks, and a few small ditches (sadly not deep enough to protect you on their own!) on all sides. You have no weapons, no protection aside from your wits, and at the apex of the snipers' range there is a large concrete wall with electric and barbed wires drapped in a thick, chaotic manner. So much for legging it in the other direction eh?
- To dodge the bullet, however, you CAN take cover in one of three bunkers posted equi-distant and equilateral from the tower. (more of which anon)
- The Sniper never misses! He always knows where you all are - even when it is pitch black!! Since you have no weapons, the sniper cannot be killed. (Yes, he has plenty of supplies to keep him going as well!) Also, when the sniper fires, several decoy rifles will be fired as well - you can never be sure which light is from the real rifle!
I will let several people post their interest in this thread. After a sufficient number have posted, I will post:-
The Sniper carefully lines up, holds his breath, and takes aim at his next target.
When this is posted, you will all post elaborate ways in which you plan to avoid the bullet and get to safety. No Matrix/Superman/"I teleport LOLZ" things for the sake of the game, but otherwise most plans are viable. e.g. Diving to the left. Try to make your style of avoidance as cunning and innovative as possible, for the most bland and boring ways will be eliminated first! After the sniper has killed, the bunkers will fill with poisonous gas, so be sure to get out asap!
So that you do not starve/dehydrate, the Sniper will also call a one hour cease fire twice a day, and drop supplies near the base of the tower. You won't need much sleep, as this game is unlikely to last more than 2 or 3 days.
*Incoming Transmission*
The Sniper decide who gets shot. There is no continuous fire, The Sniper shots one bullet at one person and kills them. After that, you are all forced outside of the bunker, rinse and repeat. Keep checking OP for new transmissions. :)
Also, One post per forumite per shooting, i.e. you have one post to get to the bunker once. Don't worry if you die first, I plan to have regular games going, mibbies even get a wee scoreboard going - 0 points for dying first, 1 for dying 2nd etc, until the final player gets 2n points, where n = number of players in that game (yes may vary). That way, as Turkey Sandwich points out, the points reflect how many people are playing the game, assuming that we have more than just this one - the more people you beat the more points you get. [probs to him for the scoring system btw]
Note that eliminated players will be scored out until the beginning of the next game. An asterix next to your name indicates you have posted your post for the round.
