WELCOME!

Hello and welcome from your subforum moderator team, [murray] and Drattigan.

This is one mega-thread for all information regarding this here forum games forum (it's for forum games you know.)

This particular forum has always been about having fun, and we hope that will continue. There will be a few changes (there won't be anymore 20000 post threads for a start.) Things will hopefully be a bit streamlined, and if we're lucky we'll have some new go faster stripes to paint on the forum in the guise of new/improved games. Saying this, we are here to enforce the forum rules and we won't tolerate crap from people, and if we need to we can get a touch shirty. You will never see this side of us if you don't break da rulez though.

If you have any questions, feel that something is not covered in this thread that should be, have any suggestions for improvements, want to contact us to see if something is OK to post or for whatever other reason then you can PM either myself or Drattigan. Also remember to keep an eye out for the stickied threads that accumulate towards the top of the subforum- they could contain information or news that may be of use to you. If you haven't already given the present assortment a gander, we advise you do so. They're really quite lovely.

Well, that's that! We'll keep you informed of all we can, but until then, enjoy your time in the Forum Games Forum.
Love and kisses, and the occasional lick,
Your friendly moderating team, [murray] (http://forums.weebls-stuff.com/member.php?u=30) and Drattigan (http://forums.weebls-stuff.com/member.php?u=16215).

FORUM PROJECTS

Some ideas to be implemented in the Forum Games Forum and the timescales they will hopefully be implemented in.

Key: Project - Status - Timeframe for Completion

Forum Cleanup - Ongoing - The forum will never truly be clean...
Restart Daily Challenge Game - Not Started - Soonish
Establishment of Forum Games Rules and Forum Games FAQs threads - Completed - Done
Pruning of oversized threads - Abandoned - Never, I'm not archiving 19500 word association posts 15 at a time.
Refreshing of oversized threads - Ongoing - See item 1
Some sort of universal scoring system - Not started - Let time be as mysterious as it is lovely.
Achievements (to work in conjunction with the scoring system) - Not started - Again, we'll see how everything works out.

THE RULES

The Forum Rules (http://forums.weebls-stuff.com/showthread.php?t=13918) apply here as well. Don't ignore them or you will get bitch slapped. This is not an area to come for rule breaking.
There should be no more than a maximum of 3 posts by any one user in any one thread per day. This is to decreasethe tendency of people to try and ramp up their post count by posting 15 times in every thread. You are allowed 3 posts in as many threads as you like though. Exceptions to this include people who are running games that need to be updated often, games which require regular participation, or game admin/chat threads.
If you don't like a game or think it is stupid, DO NOT POST IN THE THREAD. We will not tolerate trolling of other people's game ideas, and you will be punished. If a thread is a bit naff it will die out on its own without your snarky comments.
Think before you post a new game. Are there a lot of games like it already? Is it a worthwhile thread? Will it contribute to the forum? We have enough threads that go along the lines of 'POST A WORD/LETTER/NUMBER THAT RELATES TO MINE' and whilst we are happy to tolerate the old ones, we don't really need anymore. Equally, threads which are a bit more creative that fall in to this pattern like the filthy lie game, or the vending machine game are encouraged. We want clever, involving games, like the Wherewolf games, or Zoidy's old Daily Challenge.
No playing games for real money, we don't want to get sued.
Threads will be archived at 1000 posts or if they haven't been posted in for over a year.
If you see an archive thread that you would like reinstated in its original form, you need to find 4 more people that want it to, and all of them need to PM either [murray] or Drattigan (it would be useful if you all coordinated and PMed the same mod...) and we will consider moving it back from the archives.
Recreating an old thread is acceptable, but if it proves unsuccessful, expect it to be binned.
If a thread is insulting, pointless, irrelevant, or is a complete pile of toss it will be deleted.
Moderators decisions are final.
Don't bump ancient threads for no reason. Only do it if you think you can make a genuine attempt at resurrecting the games. Else we will bump you. Off.
Absolutely no threads that just involve counting.

FAQS

Q: One of the bigger game threads has suddenly disappeared! What happened to it?
A: When threads hit 1000 posts they will be sent to the Archive for the sake of cleanliness. If you wish for the game to continue, and a new thread hasn't been made for it already, by all means start a new one. PLEASE check that this is the reason the thread was archived first, as copies of other archived threads will just be deleted. There may be exceptions to this rule, we will see.
Q: What even is the 'Archive'?
A: The answer awaits you here (http://forums.weebls-stuff.com/showthread.php?p=2200613), my child.
Q: You archived my favourite thread! Can you please bring it back for me?
A: If enough people are interested in playing one of the many games that have been archived then it will be considered for a return to the main forum. 5 people must PM myself and Drattigan to get a thread restored, but if activity doesn't pick up in the thread then it will be archived again.
Q: Why was my thread deleted?!
A: It probably broke one of the forum rules, be they Forum Games specific or a forum-wide rule. Alternatively, it might have just been crap.
Q: I have a brilliant idea for a game, will you make it a sticky thread for me?
A: Probably not. Stickies tend to be reserved for important threads (such as this one) and admin style threads for larger games such as Wherewolf? or the Weebl's Stuff University megathread. Don't let this put you off posting the thread though, who knows, if it's a good idea and has enough support, it may someday warrant sticking.
Q: I have a brilliant idea for a game but I'm lazy/apathetic/have a low attention span and I can't be bothered to run it myself, will you run it for me?
A: Sorry, no. Both myself and Drattigan have our own lives to lead and in addition to this we have a lot more stuff to do around here now as moderators. Ask around though, there might be any number of forumites who will be happy to help you out with the running of your game.
Q: I want some information about [Insert Computer Game/Board Game/Card Game here]. Is this the right place to look for it?
A: No, you want the Gaming (http://forums.weebls-stuff.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20) subforum.
Q: hey!! i was playin sonic unleased las night and i got stuck, cud i ask for cheets?
A: No, no, and no; again, you want the Gaming (http://forums.weebls-stuff.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20) subforum. We really can't stress that enough. On a different note though, Sonic Unleashed is a pile of steamed arses.

Any questions you have that aren't covered here, or that you think should be added, please feel free to PM [murray] or Drattigan and we will get back to you ASAP.
