well this seems like a good fourm to post this in, so here gose

i will chose a rant topic, every one will put in there views on the subject, and how they feel abou it and so forth, then after a week has gone by, i will deside the winner, runner up, and 3rd place with the standerd

rules for the rant:
1. rant must be at least 2 paragraphs in length, and it must make sence
2. the rant must be on the topic of that weeks rant topic, every thing else will not be counted
3. this will work like a debate, so you will have to suport your statments with some facts
4. have fun, and dont flame

Stretched out along the wide open expanse of bleak, whitewashed walls and cold unfeeling floors of countless art galleries, reside an eternal testament to the so- called “controversials” and “free thinkers” of our generation. Broken chairs, half- eaten sandwiches and other such things, collectively dumped below the pathetically vague and meaningless expression of “modern art”. Bemused onlookers gaze like dead fish, their eyes plummeting helplessly into the fat-like folds of incomprehensibility encasing the “trophies” standing, lying or even gently smoking, depending on the “daring” of the artist, before them. The perpetrators of these works stand sickeningly smug in the assumption that whatever drivel they spew out onto the studio floor will eventually be bought like cattle to a disgustingly wealthy patron who, in a desperate last-stand, does so to masquerade as one of the trendy, cultured elite of today’s art world.
Is this art? It certainly seems so. Plagiarists and money-grabbers vying for either sheer financial gain or the coveted Turner Prize, which I might add are akin to each other. This knighthood of modern art being but a spectacle of recent talentless and most probably tasteless hordes of studi2o excrement. How is it that such works, a flickering light bulb for example, can in comparison to the classic masters of, in my opinion, real and valid art be worthy of such a prize and the artist gain such ludicrous sums of money that particular artist gained, not mentioning his name of course in fear of besmirching his hallowed reputation.
How is it that artists who seem to be utterly devoid of, or at least not show any, artistic talent can stand in confidence next to the great masters of their discipline such as Picasso and Klimt? Abominably, this comparison of these two extremes stands prosperously in today’s art world, and the artwork from it seems to be beginning to mutate from skilfully born and laboriously nurtured works into feeble regurgitations and empty, soulless idiocy.
