CoX made the animation
Khorney made the sound
It takes a while to load but I personally think it is worth it

the movie was more of a trailer ...
are you going to make it a feature presentation?
solid marine

yea it does that when i view it through my site 2-speed up and down. saving it on ur pc is prob the best idea, then just delete it once uve viewed it maybee??!!
and 2 sort the chopynis, if u hover ur mouse over the pic a little box should appear in the bottom right-hand corner if it needs 2 re-size it?! i dunno-just a guess
thx 4 the comments
Chassisbot
08-04-2005, 07:51 AM
yea, ur, prob, uve, maybee, chopynis, u, and thx aren't officially recognised words. Using numbers instead of letters is also stupid. This form of communication is fine in a text message, but if you have a keyboard it's stupid. Please, just write like you would if you were writing an essay.

true use correct grammer on these forums or people will "flame" you, since i started on these forums ive taken to not using "text talk" ever and use correct words and grammer even on MSN and text messages. anyway the "run away" pivot is exelent for a first try keep it up.

]http://img184.exs.cx/img184/6030/pivotguitarhobbit3wa.gif Ok so basically what is going on... there is a famous guitarist in town and people are surprised to see him, but then they find out he is a phony , then the hobbit police come along, and knock him unconcious, one of the Police are then turned into a zombie and take outthe other two, they all do a power ranger style Move and Turn into a huge zombie which makes the other two people into zombies, from that it looks like zombies have won... WRONG a huge guitarist comes in and saves the day using a power of music, then revives the first guitarist and they get together for a final Song, however the first guitarist thinks the second is being greedy and trys to stab him, but the second blocks and stabs him, and then its solo to end :) Any comments?

JOey's was good, but mine is grosser! :shit load of smileys:
The smileys - in short, STOP. Your posts are good enough without them, and the Pivots make them big enough (in filesize) already, without the smileys clogging up more space.
Most of the recent submissions have come from new members, so hello, read the FAQs, post in beginners to start with, read the FAQS and have fun.
Yes, read them twice. Its the only way they sink in.
I'm only trying to help. Other forumites will not be so kind.

post in beginners to start with, .
Dont mean to go on a rant here but to be honest there probably arent any Pivot threads in the beginners place and if i made one there would probably be a commotion about making threads where there are already enough places to post about pivot, so i dont want to break any rules by saying this or start any arguments, but i think we should be allowed to post in this thread. but i agree with the smiley thing heh.

It looks a bit odd. I didn't really notice. Don't worry about it though, it is really good!
I would like to request that from now on, all Pivots in this thread are to be linked via url. So, instead of putting the picture up using IMG tags, put it up in URL form.
I would like this because some of the animations can have a huge file size, and it slows my computer down a lot. I'm sure someone else must have this problem too.
Just a thought.

I was flicking through the thread when I realised waaaaaay back on page 164 someone made a very feebl attempt at a pokmon pivot. So I decided to put some effort in and make a good one. Unfortunately imageshack doesn't host files as big as this one (669 frames long, 800x415) so i had to reduce the frames by 1/3 rather than 1/2 which I normally would:

When you save as gif, make the *shrink frames by* 3 and *frame delay* by 5/6/7.

A minor criticism would be that you can see the red lines of the blood from behind him before he is hit. Maybe use smaller lines, or only introduce the blood in to the frame as he is hit
rocko213
30-04-2005, 02:38 AM
Yea, that's what I was testing. Good idea to introduce the blood in the frame he's hit. It's just easier and more realistic for me if the blood's already behind him.

ro po, I suggest you head to the beginners section, and read the FAQ's. Text speak is not allowed. Act to the rules and you'll get along fine.
Meatwad, here is a .zip with some lovely stick figures. You're getting:
*some car figures
*some PSP figures
*other vehicles including a bicycle and a moped
*a treadmill
*lasso and extension rope
*blood and blobs
*a dalek
*a giant fist
*a 'zoom' figure that makes someone look like they are running fast (used in my PSP launch Pivot (below)
I hope you like them.

So here's number 3 (no spiders this time, great though the temptation was). After earlier reviews, it has been claimed that the story is unclear. A passerby made so bold a statement as I record here. "Ermmm....very....interesting, but how are the two events related?" he queried upon being shown the latest creation. "Use your initiative man! Can you not see- the story is blatantly obvious to all who have ever read a fairytale! Meh!", I retorted. So, the reviewer tried using his initiative, but to no avail: "Still don't get it". Though I myself feel that it was merely his position as an aged and imperceptive old man that prevented him from linking the events, I wouldn't want to discriminate against the older viewer.
So, in essence, the man being dropped from the sky has (obviously) been dropped by the dragon, in a manner inspired by a certain Darkness video. Whether it is the same dragon dropping people each time I do not know. Maybe there is a dragon with a lair full of hapless humans. Maybe he suffers under the illusion that if he drops them from a great enough height, their shells will crack. Who can say? But anyway, for your viewing pleasure, I give you "<insert title here>". Drumroll please.
give me praise, xx thoughtfulpause
p.s. V. much in impressed by the pivots from a certain caveman650, and yams too (though I think adoormadeofpoop has a point about trying to prevent yourself from falling by flapping your arms etc. Unless he is immune to pain, and therefore has no reason to do so. This is always possible. If the stickman is immune to pain, I apologise profusely for ever doubting your talents. Otherwise, I think flailing is needed.)

Here, have a .stk of the dancing guy, just in case your fingers don't turn out right. He can be edited to exclude the shoulder thingys and the feet, if you like.

Indeed, with the avatar I even thought it was yams's pivot when he has clearly posted several before. Maybe a bit more originality next time Brother jam bob ¬_¬ other than that its fine, mostly very smooth but there is one little mistake. When the dalek is falling the blue thing under him when he flies is still there but it is whit so when he falls it passes in front of him so bits of him turn white. Just a small fault but I thought I should point it out. Hope to see another one soon!

Did you click on the program to unzip/install it?
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/stickfigure.html - download the file from there, and open it. It should be an installer, either on its own or in a .zip file. Run the installer and the program will take it from there.

My advice, have the background yellow with dark grey edges. When he switches to heat-vision, get any component, whack the size up to several thousand so it fills the screen. Send it to back and make it dark blue.

I don't know if anyone's done this already. If not, it's well overdue. First he appeared on my television,
then he worked his way on to phones across the country. I could deal with that, but then he went on
the radio, and the other day I opened my hotmail account only to be shocked and horrified (and deafened)
by his grinning self attempting to get me to buy ringtones from him.
There are boundaries. He has crossed them.

Or, download the .piv below and put the speed timer up a bit, to about 2/3 up the meter (like the normal speed is halfway up the meter).

yams, if god made pivots, it would only be .08 times better than yours. Also he'd create them in a time we cant even calculate, but still.
and the thing I noticed the most (besides the awesome ness of the twirling spear) was how the guy jumped and turned in the beginning. It was soo smooth. How long did it take you to make that?
i say we have a pivot competition? to see who the best is? anyone interested?
rocko213

not really, yams would win without a doubt. And this thread isnt about who can make the best pivot. Its about showing our pivots. Sharing our skills with others to make art. yadda yadda yadda

on the pivot forum (http://s8.invisionfree.com/Pivot_Forum/index.php?act=idx) there have been a few minor comps, and tbh i'd have to say that son-sketched would win hands down. no offense yams cause yours are brilliant but you've seen his work. for those who haven't look for his thread on the pivot forums
